Tip of the Day

A light frost in the morning can pose a much bigger slipping hazard than a heavy snowfall, so be extra mindful with your steps even when it doesn’t look too bad out.

Happy Wednesday! As is tradition, a Hump Day camel fact for you. I keep thinking we’re going to run out, but the world is filled with camel facts. Months ago I shared a bit of trivia about a failed 19th-century experiment to introduce camels into the U.S. Cavalry. The 1976 film Hawmps! is a Western slapstick detailing the whole military camel debacle.

Less on the topic of camels and more on the topic of Christmas, some happy news for holiday movie fans: a slew of classic Christmas movies are coming to Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas. Baking Christmas cookies? Here are some tips for perfect frosting. And if you’re shopping for a chef, we have a pile of gift suggestions.

Speaking of shopping, gift wrapping, and holiday deals, the gift wrap organizer I bought a few years ago is on sale today. This thing is great. It’s such as simple idea but it keeps a dozen or more rolls of wrapping paper, tissue paper, ribbon, scissors, and tape all in one place. Need to wrap something? Just pull the bag out and everything is right there. And if you’re looking for a fun, and rather classic, stocking stuffer you can pick up one of these Zippo refillable hand warmers for nearly half off.

Wednesdays are always fun because there’s the random camel fact and then more water cooler trivia, which you know we always have. On this day in 1990, workers broke through the last few feet of the Channel Tunnel, or “Chunnel” linking Britain with mainland Europe. The Channel Tunnel would open for service four years later on May, 6 1994.
