This is actually pretty interesting and useful whether you're an influencer, agency or small business.

YouTube just released a feature that will allow video creators to add a link to the place(s) they mention, or reference, in their video.
​

This feature is called Places—wait for it— Mentioned.
​

I guess simplicity is the creative approach.

​

Previously, creators would have to add in-text links about the places they mention in their videos; now, YouTube will automatically add a new visual link in the video for the place mentioned.

​

Youtube says that this new feature, within the video description box, will give users an easy and engaging way to find out about places mentioned in a video.
​

To start, they're going to test with food and drinks, then expand to different areas.
​

This is particularly great news if you're in some sort of influencer relationship (either you're the influencer or the brand) since it is easier to collaborate.
​

This is actually a very exciting release and can really take off, but there is a more powerful lesson here that follows a common theme that we can use in our own daily marketing— catering to people's laziness.

It wasn't impossible to find out about a specific location before Places Mentioned unless you're really motivated; the effort it would take to find out about a place in the description is just too much for some.
