Based on some of the best performing videos, TikTok released some of the features consistent with ‘winning’ videos. When making your 2022 strategy for conversions, here are some things to keep in mind when working on your creatives.

• High-Resolution Shoots

Video quality matters, even on smaller screens. Actually what's worse, terrible resolution on smaller screens or bigger screens? Anyway, TikTok stats show that videos shot at least at 720p resolution have an astronomical 312% increase in conversion in comparison to lower resolution videos.
​

• Full-screen offers the full effect.

To have a full impact on your audience, shooting in the 9:16 aspect ratio is the way. TikTok discovered that videos shot in this aspect ratio had a 91% increase in conversion in comparison to videos not matching this screen resolution.
​

• Enlist the audience to take action.

Clearly directing your audience to take action to convert, TikTok stats have shown an amazing 152% increase in conversion when using calls to action (CTA's). This is compared to videos not clearly informing the audience about what action to take next.

• Maintain short & sweet videos.

TikTok found that a 280% increase in conversion happened with video ads that are between 21 and 34 seconds in length. Otherwise, it's alright for shorter or longer videos when needed.

Now we have the elements of the creative and how to display it, let’s dive into the creative itself, the presentation if you will. Mainly for eComm.

Here’s a checklist theory to test. Based on everything we’re being told from the stats here are the elements you need for a winning creative.

• Multiple Scenes Mix Up

Focus on maintaining lively videos that keep interest and increase engagement. With such videos, Tiktok found that they have a 38% rise in conversion in comparison to videos having only one person selling a product.

• Getting the audience to act

Videos with the on-screen text of an offer or CTA or closed captioning have an 80% rise in conversion compared to videos without these credentials, according to TikTok.

• A winning combo includes an offer and a voiceover.

Ok so it’s hard to provide an image of a voiceover….so you’re just gonna have to take my word for it that the images below are relevant. Video ads worldwide, except Brazil and Europe, have an 87% increase in conversion in comparison to videos without these credentials, according to TikTok.

There’s a new trend out there, and it’s started by eBay (not quite, actually).
​

They’ve just launched 3D product images on their platform.

​

Well, for shoes anyway, all non-shoe-related products are stuck in the 2D phase. This is actually pretty cool and pretty obvious that 3D images for products will most likely start popping up on more platforms.
​

eBay’s 360-degree sneaker view is brought to you by eBay’s own 3D viewing tool, called 3D true view.

After partnering with Unity, which allows for real-time 3D modelling, they’ve launched their pilot.

The aim is for eBay to offer “photorealistic” 3D recreation of products that consist of scanning sneakers, uploading the images to the cloud and having AI process those images to give us the 3D shopping experience that no one asked for but now wants.

Not all shoe sellers can access this feature, but that will change in 2022.
​

So, why start with sneakers?

Considering that in October, they launched their sneaker authentication service to combat counterfeiters, it actually makes sense.
​
