Before you Trade Today: Know the Economic Calendar! Also See This Weeks Most Anticipated Earnings (Note: Red Indicates an Earnings Loss [Not Miss] Consensus)

What an Amazing Day it was Yesterday: November retail sales disappointed as easily predicted from the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, however the Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell got the last word … & boy did the markets celebrate (Cue the massive short covering!). Powell aimed to double the amount of tapering & estimated 3x interest rate increases in 2022. The markets took this as “Powell is doing nothing significant as compared to what the street expected.” And this perspective is the correct one I believe. In essence, Powell assessed the same amount of rate hikes as previously stated & simply doubled the amount of tapering which simply means that the Fed will slow … not stop … their buying of Treasuries. So if you want to cut through the noise, just know that there is very very little difference between what the Fed was committed to before, & what the Fed is committed to now. I believe this bodes very ill for inflation, but well for the markets … at least in the short run.

Looking Forward: Part of the reason the market exploded after Powell noted how little of a change he would be making, was simply that this Fed press conference & interest rate decision was one of the last threatening hurdles that markets had to get passed as we move into the new year. Indeed over the past month markets have fought though omicron, record wholesale input prices, 40 year high inflation, disappointing holiday sales numbers, & now finally, the street knows that the coast is clear (at least for now) as far as the Fed is concerned. Even the most critical data releases today will likely be an afterthought by comparison (Housing Starts, Building Permits, Marker Manufacturing PMI, & Marker Services PMI).

Will the market euphoria continue until January? I hope so! It isn’t rational but no one said that markets had to be rational. Indeed I am proud of how the StockTips portfolio held up throughout this madness. Indeed buying value on a pullback has its benefits, & one of those benefits is limited downside. Now its time to see what upside we can juice out of the rest of 2021! But lets not fool ourselves shall we? Keep in mind that inflation will continue to prove to be an issue in the coming months! Let everyone else be euphoric after yesterday while we ourselves keep our eyes & ears open to realistic economic expectations. We will ride the irrational markets to profit by buying value growth on a pullback, while others buy irrational pumps subjecting themselves to unnecessary possible downside!

Buy List Update: One stock was added to the buy list today & some of my longer subscribers will know the name well. I love to double dip when the market forgets! This brings us to a total of 18 hard researched active stocks in the below portfolio. That’s A LOT of value growth buys! New subscribers will have their pick of the litter! However upon reflection & all the research involved in adding these plays, its amazing how far StockTips has come in a short amount of time! As the fella who completed all this screening, researching, analyzing, & presenting, you can bet the burnout can be real. However the reward of helping others profit is sooo worth it! Thank you all for enabling me to foster what I do well!

Stock of the Day: Here is UNIFI (UFI), a stock that even many of my own buddies & subscribers ignored me on. Dumped hard over the last three weeks & I had to double down. Just to demonstrate the significance of me doubling down, know that I don’t do it in this market unless I’m loosing 10% or so! But look at those financials! It got so cheap that insiders began repeatedly buying the stock, which propelled her back into the green zone! UFI rebounded like a champ in the most uncertain of market conditions, & this is precisely the kind of little known gems my paid subscribers receive. Stocks that no one else is keeping an eye on, hidden from the markets, trading at a value, with solid profitability, prospects for growth, under favorable economic conditions, decent insider ownership, & trading on a pullback of no true consequence. Congrats to those who bought this dip!
