Before you Trade Today: Know the Economic Calendar!

StockTips Market Forecast: I expect this earnings season to be forgotten quickly & the uncertainty as a result of supply chain constraints, inflation, worker shortages, & semiconductor shortages will reclaim market sentiment until next earnings season. Valuations are STILL seriously overpriced right now by any reasonable & historic metric. The new omicron variant will only exacerbate this phenomena.

Commentary: Well I guess the market really shit itself on Wednesday huh? And for what? An event we knew was going to happen all along? Simply amazing! Folks, the Delta Variant was in 53 countries in three weeks after discovery. Whatever restrictions & shutdowns world leaders may be contemplating with respect to the Omicron Variant today, will be useless tomorrow. Such a knee jerk reaction is designed to comfort constituents of elected world leaders more so than preventing something that will happen no matter what is done. And we still got the debt ceiling to worry about before the end of this week & inflation numbers on the 10th.

Here is to buying the dip on the buy list below. I’ve done the math & assuming you had an equal sized position in each of the picks below, & bought in at price listed, you would be down only 4.38% amid 4 straight days of market chaos. That’s actually not too bad! In any case, lets keep our heads, avoid circular disaster thinking, & not make rash decisions based on 4 days worth of red derived from circular reporting that should be a surprise to no one. Thus far I have seen nothing that will too greatly affect the profitability of the companies below. Note that we already bought value, & while the over pumped high flyers are crashing hard, we’re doing fine with plenty of upside, even amid some degree of uncertainty. Right now there is a lot of big money looking for safe bets to put their money in … and we got some ideal candidates that they’re not likely to miss. Folks, it does not make my buy list, with trivial exception (& the exceptions are listed), unless I deem it safer than most the market under current economic conditions.

As to my picks in the buy list below, remember that we snagged them at a value already. My methodology since I began this newsletter is to add reliably/historically profitable companies, trading at a sector/industry relative value, on a pullback of little to no consequence, favored by intuitions, under favorable economic conditions. Thusly, if they were good buys when I added them, the ones in the red are great buys now in my opinion. So if you missed the pumps earlier, many of them are back in the buy zone! And I’m certainly jealous. Note that the overwhelming majority of the picks below were chosen with existing economic conditions in mind (minus Omicron). And the good news is, & you might be confused as to why I call this good news, the futures look awful right now. Indeed if I can buy even more value, I consider this good news!

There is quite a bit retail traders ARE NOT paying attention to amid the Omicron distraction. For example, inflation number’s come out on December 10th (will be here before we know it), Congress still needs to raise the debt ceiling … & soon, & poor Chinese economic conditions are lingering behind world economic stage. Everyone seemed surprised when Fed Chair Powell testified before Congress … except us. That’s why I have an economic calendar above & no one here should be surprised that the Fed will likely adjust their strategy. Its been a topic of this newsletter on many occasions.
