Before you Trade Today: Know the Economic Calendar! Also See This Weeks Most Anticipated Earnings (Note: Red Indicates an Earnings Loss [Not Miss] Consensus)

Commentary: As I said yesterday, all the FUD in the markets were excellent justification for big money to go short, but the substance wasn’t there. People are going to get used to new variants popping up & the political & financial willpower to shut down economies & increase restrictions just isn’t there anymore. And when you have so much money to the short side, firms certainly don’t want to be the last ones to cover which accounts for that massive squeeze we saw yesterday.

Today on the Economic Calendar we have GDP & existing home sales. Tomorrow personal spending, personal income, durable goods & new home sales numbers will be released. I don’t suspect these numbers will have much impact on the markets unless they are considerably higher or lower than expected. (See the Economic Calendar Above). Moreover the most anticipated earnings for today are KMX, CTAS, LIVE, AVO, MSM, PAYX, & RFIL. CarMax, given the current state of the auto industry ought to be the one to watch. Used car prices have skyrocketed this year and are in very short supply. I want to see if KMX gets a solid boost from this or perhaps gets slammed for having nothing to sell. Either way KMX earnings will have implications for the rest of the auto industry.

As to the StockTips portfolio below, we removed TMST for a nearly 15% profit in roughly 5 days time. In fact all positions except for two were green yesterday. I continue to assess that big money will go defensive for the first half of next year which is my way of saying they will be investing in reliably profitable companies trading at a value price, on a pullback of little to no consequence, favored by intuitions, under assessed favorable economic conditions … precisely what I specialize in … precisely the kind of picks I have in the paid section below.
