Recruiting Brainfood for the week ahead - Issue #272

Hung Lee
Hung Lee
Hey Everybody,
It’s the final newsletter of the year and I wanted to take a moment and thank you all for your amazing support this year. It still surprises me to know that tens of thousands of recruiters & HR pro’s from across the globe look forward to reading Recruiting Brainfood every week. It is hugely motivating for me to know that this newsletter might add something positive to your work, that it might have helped you solve a problem, find an opportunity or a friend through the community that we’ve built around it.
It is only a newsletter, and we are only recruiters & HR people.
But I feel that the lessons learned from what we have built here apply much further than just our domain. To stay connected; to be present, to be seen. To be open to new information. To be a plus one rather than a minus one for every day we spend in this universe. All these things we learn from being part of community, and they are the same values which are going to be most important for us as we navigate and shape a world in the middle of rapid and unpredictable change.
So thank you for being part of the brainfood community. It’s my honour and privilege to be here with you.
In this last issue of the year, we are going to change the pace; instead of the usual curation, I will instead give you a review of the ‘state of brainfood’, share some thoughts on ideas for 2022 and make a few recommendations for people to also follow for next year.
Hope you enjoy
Cheers!
Hung

Brainfood for 2022?
The best ideas emerge from when viable solutions meets genuine frustrations. There’s a ton of things which I think could be better and I’m always on the look-out for a do-able solution which has low implementation costs and low barriers to mass adoption. Some things I’m thinking about for next year…
1) Polling App for the Community
2) Dark Mode the Homepage
3) Make More Recruiters
4) Brainfood in the Metaverse
5) Twitter Spaces
Recommendations for 2022
I’m going to end this issue with a few recommendations for people I’ve learned from this year. Each of the figures have taught me something not only in their content and conversation but also in their use of medium. I think some of you might get value from following them too👇

End notes
It’s Boxing Day folks, so I am at my brother’s and we’re making some spring rolls and dim sum to continue a family tradition that has gone since we first arrived in the UK, many years ago.
It will be 2022 by the next newsletter so let me take the time to wish you and everyone you love a very Happy New Year. Good health and prosperity to you!
PS: DM me on twitter or Instagram or TikTok if you have any decent New Year celebration scenes….
Have a great week everybody.
