Before you Trade Today: Know the Economic Calendar! Also See This Weeks Most Anticipated Earnings (Note: Red Indicates an Earnings Loss [Not Miss] Consensus)

Commentary: Lets keep it short today. I blew all my time today scrounging for the next addition to the Buy List. I have a couple of candidates in mind, but I don’t throw an addition to the Buy List unless thoroughly researched to include some deep dives by unconventional means along with some assessment toward future economic conditions. Indeed I wish I had some folks to play contrarian to bounce my ideas off of when it comes to this part of my analysis. I used to post DD on reddit for crowdsourced feedback but rarely did it ever prove substantive. Folks just made money on my labor without so much as a thank you in many cases.

Today on the economic calendar we have jobless claims to be released at 08:30 ET. This should set the tone for the day. 202k claims are forecasted on the 4 week average, 210k on initial jobless claims (25 DEC), & 1864k on the continuing.

Yesterday I also published the Annual StockTips Report. Here I roll up all of my record and aggregate progress thus far. I additionally go into the sectors/industries I think are bullish & have some updates as to my plans for the newsletter moving forward. One such plan is to revamp the StockTips Daily Newsletter to a mostly text only model with the option to link to the research by clicking on the link next to the ticker. That way readers of the newsletter will no longer need to look at the same data every time & they’ll save on inbox data as well. You’ll still have the economic calendar, you’ll still have the insider trades & earnings, but rather than see all the same writeups over and over again I’ll have the tickers, with the most recent news about them, their status (P/L) since alerted, & the option to click on a link that will carry you to the template. Of course, all new additions will be included with full research on display, but after one day that data will be available by clicking the link. HIGHLIGHTED COMPANY OF THE DAY: I though long and hard bout this one today. I thought about either showcasing a pick deep in the green or perhaps rehashing a public position. As the best green picks are up roughly 13% I thought I would hold off until it hits 15% or so. It would not be fair to my paid subscribers if I put too much in the free section outside of stocks removed, stocks already deep in the green, or stocks that I hold publicly.
