Tip of the Day

Let your pet sleep in bed with you?  You’ll want to launder your comforter more often. Just like the sheets collect skin oil and dirt from your body, the comforter collects the same from theirs.

Happy Thursday! Managing Editor, Amanda, here with today’s goodies. Ever wondered if you could flush the toilet while the power is out? If so, you’re in luck, as our fearless leader, Jason, has the answer!

But let’s leave the powder room and head to the kitchen. With spring around the corner, many of us are prepping to do some decluttering, and your pantry and/or cabinets are the perfect places to start. I don’t know about you, but when I can’t find my rosemary or thyme, I get just a bit frustrated (skillets may be thrown).

While we’re in the kitchen, though, have you been trying to eat more greens this year? Did you know you could drink them? I didn’t, and hey, anything that saves me time and helps me stay healthier is a win-win in my book.

Finally, lest you thought I would forget our water cooler trivia for the day, behold: It was on this day in 2014, that Saturday Night Live alum, Jimmy Fallon, took over hosting duties from Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. Leno, of course, had taken over from comedy legend, Johnny Carson, when he retired way back in 1992. And I’m just lucky (old) enough to remember all three changings of the guard.
