5.3KYEAR OLD skull excavated by archaeologists from a Spanish tomb is found to have seven cut marks near the left ear canal, strong evidence of a primitive surgical procedure to treat a middle ear infection. That makes this the earliest known example of ear surgery.

8MINUTES too late for Starbucks’ anti-union lawyers as they fail to submit a dispute with the National Labor Relations Board on time due to an untimely crash in the firm’s Microsoft Outlook. A number of stores have unionised but Starbucks is attempting to disrupt further efforts to do so.

5INDIVIDUAL fast radio bursts (FRB) from outer space have been imaged by an international team of astronomers and new research found the source was magnetars - neutron stars that have extremely intense magnetic fields. Only problem…they’ve now found FRB’s where science says they shouldn’t exist leaving scientists puzzled as what or who they originate from.
