Hi all,

Given the theme of what I write about here, I think it was only fitting that I would work on something of my own. After thinking a bit about it, and following the Substack Writers Unit Discord for a while, I decided to build stuff related to Substack itself. There’s a great community here, and I feel like there are lots of opportunities to explore!

So, what have I been working on? This:

Substack Tools

For now, this is only a simple browser extension (Chrome now, waiting on approval from Firefox), that also does 2 simple things:

1. 👀 Tooltip preview: hover over a tooltip on any Substack article to get a preview of the tooltip, instead of having to navigate to the end of the article;

2. 🐦 Select and tweet: if you used Medium in the past, you know what this is. Select a block of text in an article, and immediately be given the option to share on Twitter.

I’ve decided to create this thread to officially launch the tool, but also to gather feedback from the community (assuming it gets any sort of attention, which I hope it will). So check it out, test it out, and drop your feedback below.

I also welcome you to share other ideas with me, so that I can add them to my backlog. I have a couple of things already in mind, but I’m open to more! 😃
