Tip of the Day

The IRS doesn’t call people, they communicate with taxpayers via mail. Any phone call you get from someone claiming to be from the IRS is a scam and you should hang up.

Happy Friday! Here’s a little bit of Friday fun for you if you’re looking to sneak in a little goofing off at work. We rounded up 11 items you won’t find on McDonald’s menu anymore. RIP, McPizza.

While you’re thinking about food, now’s a perfect time to grab some of these light and easy spring Instant Pot recipes. Speaking of spring, Daylight Saving Time is right around the corner.

It’s a Friday tradition to look back at the most popular and interesting articles of the week, so let’s dig into some of the articles you couldn’t get enough of.

While we’re talking about articles popular with our readers, allow me to dip back an extra week in the calendar. At the end of last week, we shared a tip about giving your leftover coffee to your house plants and boy did that get people curious. Between then and now a million of you read it—so I have to assume at least a house plant or two got a sip of Starbucks this week.

And water cooler trivia? You know we have some. This particular bit of history has always given me a chuckle, so I’m thrilled that today is the day I get to share it with you. On this day in 1829, Andrew Jackson held an inaugural open house at the White House, as was tradition. Only this time the party got a little out of control and 20,000 people showed up. White House staff resorted to setting up giant tubs of whisky-spiked punch out on the lawn just to draw the rowdy crowds out and secure the building.
