60YEARS ago today Yogi the bear became the 1st creature to be ejected at supersonic speeds by the US military testing ejection seats. Yogi was ejected at 35,000 feet flying at 870 mph: “Yogi” survived the test and landed unharmed 7 minutes, 49 seconds later.

60%OF GENES possessed by fruit flies have been found to change every 3 to 4 months with the seasons; a study which marks a breakthrough in observing evolution over short timescales. 

3TO 4 GENERATIONS - each one lasting a month or so - is all it takes for the flies to adapt their genomes and other physical traits to a new environment in whats being branded ‘rapid evolution’.
