There are two types of people: consumers and creators.

Consumers consume what creators create.

99% of people are consumers. Only 1% are creators (even if it feels like more).

Don't get me wrong! It's perfectly okay to be a consumer.

When I got fired, however, being a creator (aka creating content online) worked wonders for me.

It gave me the opportunity to start my own business.

I know some of you want that as well.

In the last 2 years, I have tweeted 12k times. 

Before that, I was a consumer for many years.

Each day I read about how other people were building cool stuff and getting things done.

The only difference with me?

They were creating. 

I was consuming.

And making up all kinds of excuses in my mind to not get started.

I know some of you do it too. So I want to address those excuses today. 

Here are 7 excuses that prevent you from creating content and how you can fix them 👇

There’s no “I’m ready”.

I spent years reading about how to make money online.

Result ➞ $0

I then tried to make money online on my own.

Put myself out there and launched a simple free product on Gumroad when I had around 300 Twitter followers.

Result ➞ Made my first dollar in less than 2 weeks thanks to a random donation

It’s not much, but it gave me the energy to keep building.

Your content won't be unique starting out, and that's fine.

Don't let the fear of not being original paralyze you. First, you imitate.

Eventually, you will find your own voice.

There are 0 people on the planet searching for your content.

And that's a good thing.

No expectations, no pressure.

A simple formula👇

• Pick a topic you want to be known for
• Start talking about it online
• Start engaging with others that talk about it
• Do this for a long time

How do you know if you never tried?

My mother used to tell me this 👆 when I didn’t want to eat my vegetables as a kid.

And it worked! 

I’m 185cm tall (I think that’s 6ft tall for my USA friends). Vegetables definitely had something to do with it.

It’s probably true. 

The sooner you make your peace with that, the better.

Stop seeing them as competition, and start seeing them as inspiration

See what they are doing. How can you replicate that?

Steal their best tactics!

You only need 1h a day tops.

It might be a lot for some. But it's worth it if you think of the potential return.
