Email a client.

In my opinion, email is the single most underutilized tool for agencies.

Just don't do what 99% of agency owners do and send emails like this:

"Hi Client, We are interested in your project! We have 9 years of experience. Blah blah blah."

These emails get ignored.

Instead focus your emails on the client and what they want.

You'll stand out.

Hack #2

Email another agency.

Too often agencies overlook joining forces with other agencies.

For example, you probably know of another agency in your town.

Why not look up who their biggest client is and pitch them on helping serve that client in a complimentary way?

Send over your most relevant case study that features a COMPLIMENTARY service to what they do or something they don't offer.

What's the worst that can happen?

Hack #3

Email a company now hiring.

Pitching a F/T job on the advantages of working with a team of specialists is easier than you think.

Believe it or not, some companies have never even considered working with an agency before.

Sometimes these are the best clients to go after because they have real budgets (and low expectations).

Gently let them know why you think they could benefit from a team of specialists instead of an employee.

There may be more companies open to it than you think.

Hack #4

Offer a freebie.

This is a good one especially if you have clients affected by COVID-19.

Send an email out to past clients and leads about a freebie, like a free strategy call or WordPress plugin you made.

There's a high chance that when you give someone a free strategy session, you'll find obvious and natural areas of their business where they need your services.

This is a natural opportunity to upsell your paid services.

Offering free value just feels great too.

Hack #5

Pitch a non-profit on helping advance their mission.

Like agencies, non-profit organizations have values.

Tap into them.

Do a bit of research about what their mission is and email them if you can help.

Just tell them how your team can help advance their cause.

That's it!

Hack #6

Email any deals in your pipeline that are dragging on.

Facts. Some clients will continue to negotiate endlessly.

It's okay (and even professional) to draw a line in the sand in these situations.

Be brief and straightforward.

Say something like:

I understand if what I'm offering isn't right for you. I find it's right for the customers I do serve.

That's it.

Being willing to say goodbye to the wrong clients will make way for the right ones.

Hack #7

Close the loop on any leads that have gone cold.

Some agencies don't realize that when a lead goes cold it's that agency's job to follow up.

If you've followed up several times and STILL haven't heard back here's what you can do...

Send the following email:

I haven't heard back from you about this so I'm going to assume it's no longer a priority.

This template will help you revive those cold and dead deals.

I've seen response rates as high as 50% (on deals that were basically dead mind you.)
