Copywriting for dummies

Copywriting is the process of creating effective text for marketing, and it involves understanding your audience, and making sure that the message is delivered engagingly.

The above template is a great starting point but it just scratches the surface of what you need to be doing for an effective copy. 

Before we go into tips to create good copywriting, we should always make sure that our audience is getting value out of our content by solving their problem. Then you take the help of different human emotions to sell your product. You don’t need to be a psychology expert to do that, just being cognizant of these behaviors will be good enough to inspire you:

1. Desire: Buyers want things that they want, and they want them now. Probably the easiest emotion to tap into, it only works when the user knows they want something, your only job is to nudge and make that sell that’s it.
2. Fear: Humans are terrified of … well everything. So, they need reassurance, they want to feel safe, they want to feel in control. Make no mistake modern buyers are extremely smart and want to protect their financials. Our job is to make sure they know that we are looking out for them and it’s going to be alright.
3. Belief: Buyers believe that they need a product to be successful, or they believe that they are not good enough without it. 
4. Social Norms: Buyers conform to social norms when making a purchase.

Now, that you know the triggers, make sure you learn everything about your user and how you can provide them with something valuable. 

Then choose a trigger from above, that kernel of an idea in your head now is the basis of the copy you will create, expand on that, and be creative while doing so.
