MOVE OVER EVERNOTE...

This week in the Startup Booster session we met with Lorenzo from Einote.

Lorenzo is 16 years old with a passion for learning. He noticed that when attempting to actively learn by reading an article or watching a video that it was difficult to extract the information for not only his personal learning but to share with others. And thus, the idea for Einote was born!

Einote allows users to take notes on the fly from any webpage, addressing the challenges of internet based research. Einote aims to save you time, organize effectively, and keep your knowledge findable. It is a Chrome extension paired with a knowledge management dashboard and with it you can create your own personalized wall of knowledge. You are also able to add widgets like Wikipedia to check definitions or get a high level overview of new concepts, or translate articles and your notes. The Chrome extension is linked to the Einote webpage and they sync in constant communication.

Where was this when I was in school? This project has huge potential moving forward with a 16 year old founder achieving everything you see with only personal investment. Similar to last week, there are a variety of paths forward with this project, let's dig in!

From a business perspective:

  • The global note taking app market is huge and projected to grow 13.8%, however there are many established competitors in this space, how do you differentiate yourself?
  • Currently has 150 active users and has already sought out extensive feedback through interviews with current users.

From a marketing perspective:

  • Major marketing channels are not present in the current marketing plan - but that’s what we’re here for!

A way forward:

  • Option to capture browsing habits and browning data and monetize.
  • Option to collaborate with other businesses and software to provide integrations with CMS, Asana, mind mapping.
  • Suggestion to have the payment plan organized with a 30-day free trial and then bill an annual fee. The 30-day free trial gives users ample time to dive into the product and have a chance to do research and develop a personalized organization strategy.
  • Suggestion to push organic traffic through visibility on Reddit/Quora, software advice websites, Stack Overflow, and software directories.
  • Suggestion to offer a B2B model with research institutions and universities.
  • Suggestion to market in the productivity sphere for SaaS and employer conferences.

One of our personal favorite abilities of this product is that you can directly associate your notes with the website they come from, and when you reopen that website, your previous note pops up to continue working! Check out https://einote.com/ today and take your productivity to the next level!

HOW TO GROW A NEW SHOPIFY STORE

This week Furlough reviewed Kikibums, a brand new bathing suit company looking to grow rapidly.

Brand overview:

  • They decided to dive into swimwear since the demand for bathing suits is set to increase after the pandemic restrictions decrease.
  • Started 2-3 months ago.
  • Total sales to date: $450.

How they can increase sales:

  • First, set up Google Console.
  • Start tracking people to gain information and create the ideal customer.
  • Product descriptions should be 150 words and use keyword research to drive SEO.
  • Post more reels and videos to use in ads to increase brand awareness.
  • New brands should focus on Facebooks ads since Google ads aren't ideal for sites with limited traffic.
  • Send samples to micro influencers to increase sales.
  • Use email marketing to retain customers and increase selling opportunities at each customer journey point.
  • Switch from Shopify to Klaviyo for more in depth automation and segmentation capabilities.
