Switch Weekly - Splatoon dated, Xeno pushed up
Shifting dates... Web version | Unsubscribe Hi, Chris here with your weekly update on all things Nintendo. Hope you're doing well. This week Nintendo dated a couple of things: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Splatoon 3. Xenoblade has been moved up to July, and Splatoon has been dated for September. The release date news was accompanited by new trailers — both of which are linked in the issue below. Now, the Splatoon 3 trailer got me thinking: Other than being more of the same (which can often be a good thing!) what is it about this new version that's got you hyped? This tweet thread from Kate Willært asked a similar question. Hit reply to this email if you want to share any thoughts. Anyway, next week we have 15 games hitting the Switch, including Nintendo Switch Sports and The Stanley Parable. Full list below for you to check out. Finally, I'm around 10 subs away from hitting my next YouTube sub count goal — if you're not subbed already, I'd love for you to hit the button and follow along. 😊 Thanks for reading. Cheers ✌️ 🎮 Currently Playing — EarthBound, Kirby and the Forgotten Land ▶ Splatoon 3 - Release Date Revealed — Landing in early September. The new fashion choices here looks so fresh. 😄 Oh, and to mark the occasion Nintendo added the Octo Expansion for Splatoon 2 to the Switch Online Expansion Pack tier. Nintendo // YouTube ▶ Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Release Date Revealed —Originally slated for a release at the end of the year, this has now been bumped up to a July release. It's not often we see a game get moved up like this. Nintendo // YouTube Xenoblade Chronicles 3 needs to avoid being weirdly horny anime nonsense REVIEW Star Wars: The Force Unleashed — "a heavily flawed though still enjoyable experience from an era where Star Wars was trying to find its next identity. [..] by no means a masterpiece, but it is an excellent version of a fairly good game.". John Rairdin // Nintendo World Report ▶ After 5 years, here's what Nintendo fans think about the Switch — Here's my look over some of the highlights from this year's State of Switch survey. If you haven't read the full results, consider this video your TL;DR on the whole thing. Switch Weekly // YouTube These are the 40 Game Boy Advance games ‘tested for Switch’s emulator’ — A recent leak suggests that work is reportedly underway to bring Game Boy and GBA titles to the Switch in some capacity. Considering many expected Game Boy titles to come to the Switch Online service before the N64 library landed evidence of this work comes as little surprise — but welcome all the same. The GBA has such a neat library that I'd be keen to revisit. I imagine it's aged better than the N64 stuff too. Modern Vintage Gamer digs into the leak, and its legitimacy, in this video.
