How I Upgraded My Sleep Sanctuary

Hi, I'm Kristina, the senior newsletter editor here at Forbes Vetted. Exciting news: Sleep Week is coming back for another year! That means next week, we'll be running all sorts of dedicated sleep content, from mattress shopping guides to product reviews of items that'll transform your bedtime routine.

To (unofficially) kick things off, I'm here to share how I upgraded my sleep sanctuary (a.k.a. my bed) to get the best rest I've had in years.Until a few months ago, I'd been sleeping on a mattress I'd had for a decade, with pillows that needed to be replaced and a duvet cover I hated fighting. Then one day, I woke up tired of creaky joints, fatigue and my bed's shabby appearance.Over the course of the next few weeks, I revamped everything from literally the bottom up, and
now I find myself sleeping better than ever. Below, find the products I chose and details on how they've changed the way I sleep.

Amerisleep AS3 Mattress (Queen)

Amerisleep AS3 Mattress (Queen)

The AS3 is Amerisleep's best-selling mattress, designed to fit a wide variety of body types and sleep styles. As someone who starts sleep on their stomach and wakes up on their back without fail, this mattress assures I'm supported no matter how I'm sleeping. Its Refresh Cover also ensures a cooler night sleep, keeping your sleeping surface an average of seven degrees cooler throughout the night.

Parachute Cloud Cotton Quilt (Queen)

Parachute Cloud Cotton Quilt (Queen)

After years of fighting with my duvet insert and cover, I decided to switch to a quilt, and I couldn't be happier with this one from Parachute. The weight and texture is unlinke any blanket I've ever used before, truly airy to the touch like a just-toasted marshmallow. It's warm enough for cool spring nights sleeping with the window open, but not so warm that you wake up sweating on a warmer evening.

Bluewave Bedding Super Slim Gel Memory Foam Pillow

Bluewave Bedding Super Slim Gel Memory Foam Pillow

Stomach sleepers, take note: The Bluewave Super Slim pillow is the most comfortable pillow I've ever used for our sleeping style. It's ultra-thin (just 3.25 inches tall), so it perfectly supports my head without creating a kink in my neck. It also features built-in ventilation holes, which keep the pillow cool throughout the night.

Gorilla Grip Original Slip Resistant Mattress Gripper Pad

Gorilla Grip Original Slip Resistant Mattress Gripper Pad

While I love my bed frame, which is metal with wood slats, it doesn't provide much friction to keep a mattress in place. I purchased this gripper pad to save me the trouble of scooting my mattress back to center multiple times per day, and it has actually worked wonders. Thrown over slats or a box spring, it provides just enough grip without taking much time to install.

Endel App

Endel App

Endel is an AI-powered soundscape app that provides ambient music, including tracks from artists like James Blake and Grimes, for every part of your day. As someone who suffers from revenge bedtime procrastination, having a mental cue to get my brain in sleep mode has been a game-changer. Its wakeup function slowly brings you out of sleep with sounds based on your circadian rhythm and environment. You can try it free for a week on both Apple and Android devices.
