Eventually, he quit his job and gave himself a year to work on his idea.

By the end of the first year, he was making just enough money to hire his first employee and keep going for another year.

He bootstrapped his business for 4 years before deciding to get funding.

Today, his business does 8-figures in ARR, has nearly 200 employees, and he's raised $25 million in VC funding.
