Hello, Chris here with issue #299 of Switch Weekly — your Nintendo update.

Quite the week here in the UK.... It marks the first time since 1830 that there has been a change of monarch and change of Prime Minister in the same year (let alone the same week!). But hey, you're not here for world news, let's talk Nintendo.

So, Splatoon 3 is here, and it looks to be filled with lots of crowd pleasing quality of life improvements. I went over the reviews and that seemed to be my key takeaway: lots of small wins, adding up to something that feels good overall, if not a little safe.

Anyway, it's another busy one on the eShop with over 30 games coming to the Switch over the next seven days. I'm intrigued to see how the Switch port of XIII stacks up. The full list is below for you as ever.

Finally, next week is a milestone of sorts: issue 300. There's something about those big numbers huh? I've been sending this email to you now week in, week out, since October of 2016! ⭐️ Little Orpheus — A "technicolor side-scrolling adventure" inspired by movies like Flash Gordon, Sinbad and The Land that Time Forgot.
⭐️ Svoboda 1945: Liberation — An award-winning unique investigative WWII adventure game.
XIII — A remake of the 2003 shooter. I loved the original, but this remake has had a real rocky start. It's now finally coming to Switch. I ain't holding my breath... but please be good.
Sacred Valley — A relaxing walking sim.

Absolute Tactics: Daughters of Mercy — A turn-based RPG adventure that claims to put "a modern spin on classic tactics-style games".
Family Man — A Breaking Bad-esque RPG featuring the mob. M for mature.
Silent Sector — Described as an old-school open world sci-fi RPG with crude humor. (Sep 15 in U.S.)
Reknum DX — An upgrade of the original 2D adventure platformer.

Loot Box Simulator - RPG Anime Girls — Looks like one to avoid.
Japanese Escape Games: The Mansion of Tricks — Escape room mystery adventure with riddles to solve.
Gold Crusader — Procedurally generated dungeions with gold to loot.
⭐️ Wayward Strand — A rather lovely looking interactive story set on an airborne hospital in the summer of 1978. Has a unique narrative structure. (This one is still showing as Rating Pending on Nintendo's site.)
Dungeons 3 — An "evil" dungeon manager sim.
Last Beat Enhanced — Two player side-scrolling beat em up with eight levels.
⭐️ Foretales — Card-based board game adventure with branching paths.
Innocence Island — Adventure game in whcih you can either play peacefully or chose a destructive path. M for mature.
Gunslingers and Zombies — Action strategy bringing the wild west and the undead together.
⭐️ Paddles — A neat looking budget arcade local party game for four.
Saomi — Budget 2D precision platformer with over 50 levels.
Queen's Garden - Sakura Season — Japanese themed match three puzzler.
⭐️ Bear and Breakfast — Laid back B&B management adventure, in the woods.
⭐️ Ankora: Lost Days — Cute single player survival adventure on a wile planet, features exploration of biomes and crafting.
