REVIEW Splatoon 3 exudes polish, but lacks ambition — "The goofy shooter franchise is slick as ever, but it struggles to find its own voice "

Ana Diaz // Polygon

What the reviews say about Splatoon 3 for Nintendo Switch — Here's my round-up of the early critical consensus on Splatoon 3. My takeaway from reading through a dozen or so reviews were: this is a really solid entry that fans are going to absolutely love, but overall it doesn't really push the core experience forward much. P.S — Be sure to subscribe if you haven't yet.

REVIEW Disney Dreamlight Valley — "a frictionless, relaxing spin on life sims that manages to remain heartwarming and charming, despite a few Switch-related rough patches. [..] what's here at launch is surprisingly touching and thoughtful, and cleverly plays on the nostalgia of anyone who's ever been a Disney fan."

Josh Broadwell // Nintendo Life

REVIEW BPM: Bullets Per Minute — "a high contrast art style which just doesn’t work with how low fidelity the game is on Nintendo’s hybrid". The reviewer seemingly enjoyed this rhythm game, but suggests playing it elsewhere.

Scott McCrae // Nintendo Life

REVIEW Temtem — With a few more tweaks this "could be the closest the Pokémon series has ever come to a real challenge to its monster-taming monopoly".

Connor Christie // Pocket Tactics

REVIEW Haiku, The Robot — This 2D Metroid-style game offers melee combat, platforming, and a few interesting tricks up its metallic sleeve, but ultimately "can be tedious more often than it is compelling".

Jordan Rudek // Nintendo World Report

INTERVIEW Reuniting Mario with the Rabbids: "If our composers don't get awards for this, I will change my job" — A great chat with Ubisoft’s Davide Soliani on music, pressure, growing the team massively and making 'too many changes'.

Christopher Dring // gamesindustry

PREVIEW Mina The Hollower hands on — An upcoming action adventure game that looks like Link's Awakening and plays like Castlevania? Jordan takes a look.

  • ⭐️ Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden — Another round of Yoko Taro card RPG action from Square Enix.
  • ⭐️ Little Orpheus — A "technicolor side-scrolling adventure" inspired by movies like Flash Gordon, Sinbad and The Land that Time Forgot.
  • ⭐️ Svoboda 1945: Liberation — An award-winning unique investigative WWII adventure game.
  • XIII — A remake of the 2003 shooter. I loved the original, but this remake has had a real rocky start. It's now finally coming to Switch. I ain't holding my breath... but please be good.
  • Sacred Valley — A relaxing walking sim.
  • Absolute Tactics: Daughters of Mercy — A turn-based RPG adventure that claims to put "a modern spin on classic tactics-style games".
  • Family Man — A Breaking Bad-esque RPG featuring the mob. M for mature.
  • Silent Sector — Described as an old-school open world sci-fi RPG with crude humor. (Sep 15 in U.S.)
  • Reknum DX — An upgrade of the original 2D adventure platformer.
