Issue 238 - Door unlatch

DIY Protection with Feynlab
[Sponsored] Feynlab’s DIY products follow a regimen: Preparation, Protection, and Maintenance. First Prepare the paint by washing it with Pure Wash, followed by Panel Prep to remove any residual oil or contaminants. Then Protect your Tesla using Ceramic Lite - the easiest coating to apply. Then Maintain the coating with Pure Wash, and if you want that extra touch of protection, follow it up with Ceramic Spray Sealant every couple of months.

Software Updates

Door unlatch with 2022.36 📷
If your car is in 2022.36 or later, make sure you update your app to have the door unlatch feature. Now that winter is close, I'm sure this feature is really appreciated by those of you in colder climates, if the drivers handle freezes, you can unlatch the door from the app and open the rest from the inside.

Track Model for Performance Model Y
Our friend John from TOSV asked Elon if Model Y performance could get Track Mode and Elon said "ok". Thanks John!

Hardware Updates

Model Y MIC introduces two major updates 📷
According to this report on Twitter, the model Y from China comes with a longer rear seat, 30mm, for better leg support. It also has an emergency mechanical door handle, probably similar to what the doors in the front have, although I wish they did it a bit less obvious so folks don't use it accidentally. Based on past changes, we will probably see these changes in other Model Ys in a few months.

Non-performance 3 & Y suspension in production now has improved comfort
Another tweet from Elon. I've heard multiple people complaining about the stiffness of the Model 3 and Y suspension. Seems that Tesla is working on a new suspension with improved comfort, without sacrificing handling.

Range

Tesla updated the range on the Model S/X in Europe 📷
Ahead of the first deliveries for the refreshed Model S and X, Tesla updated the range with the actual WLTP range, the numbers are:
  • Model S: 634km for the LR, 600km for Plaid
  • Model X: 576km for the LR, 643km for Plaid

FSD Beta

(Actually) Smart Summon is almost done
In another reply to John, Elon said that the new version of Smart Summon, what he calls (Actually Smart Summon) is almost done. We assume this new version will use the same stack as the FSD beta, and I hope it improves massively. He didn't say anything about smart Autopark, tho.

Tesla FSD Beta 10.69.2.3 First Drive in Venice, Los Angeles 📹
I have to say that my FSD Beta doesn't work this well. I love the 360° video.

Incentives

Tesla's referral program might be making a comeback
In a recent update from the app, our friends from Teslascope found new text strings referring to redeeming referrals for Supercharging miles, official merchandise, and vehicle accessories. These changes point to a possible re-introduction of the Tesla Referral Program.
