FSD Beta

FSD Beta is to go out to everyone in about a month
Elon announced this during the earnings call, everyone in North America who has ordered FSD will have access to the program this year, in theory, in about a month.

FSD 10.69.3 coming out this week?
In a response to our friend John, Elon said that 10.69.3 is a major release and they need more internal testing. Let's see if it actually starts going out this week, I hope so.

Another video by Chuck, this one with Dr. Know it All. It is amazing how far FSD Beta has come in this specific type of turn. Great work as always, Chuck.

Software Updates

The release notes for 2022.40.1 📷
Changes include:
  • Sentry Mode with Dog Mode: now Dog Mode keeps Sentry activated.
  • Improved charging efficiency: Improved on-route preconditioning and charging efficiency.
  • Driver door unlock mode: With this mode, long pressing the interior driver door switch will unlock all doors and the trunk.

More release notes for 2022.40.1
These come from Greentheonly and complement the ones above:
  • Regen brakes blending for all cars.
  • Hebrew voice navigation in the ME region.
  • A bunch of changes in service/service plus modes.
  • Paired Bluetooth devices are now limited to 10.

Charging

A massive new Supercharger is coming soon to the California Grapevine
Earlier this month, Tesla filed permits to build a 63-stall Supercharger with a drive-thru café in Lebec, California.  I like big Supercharger stations, but more so, I like it when they include more amenities, like the one in Kettleman or this future one. Awesome!

Hardware Updates

Model Y parcel shelf 📷
This finally made it into Fremont builds. for Model Ys built in California on or after October 20th, 2022.

Tesla Hardware 4.0 to use 5-megapixel camera, production and shipments to Tesla already started
If this rumor coming out of China is true, the new system will dramatically increase the quality of the cameras. When or where we will see these, it's unclear.

New colors for cars Made in Germany 📷
Elon said in the past that the paint shop in Giga Berlin was going to be the world's most advanced paint shop. This week, Tesla added two new colors, exclusive to their Model Y Made in Germany cars: Quicksilver and Midnight Cherry Metallic. Both look gorgeous, especially the new red 😍😍😍.

🤓 What the acronym

As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.

  • ME - Middle East
