What if the workplace was designed by women?

We know what a workplace that is centered on men — and men’s needs — looks like. It’s all around us.

It’s 9 to 5. Or maybe 8 to 6. Or even 10 to 9.

It’s in-person, or, sometimes now, on Zoom. It’s where mostly-male CEOs push for return-to-office … complete with soul-destroying commutes, freezing office temperatures, and the unequal distribution of “office housekeeping” among the genders.

It’s where men make more money than women, simply for being men; and it’s where that differential increases when people become parents — with men earning a “daddy bonus” and women paying a “mommy tax.”

How does this type of work environment work for women? Not so well.

Here’s a better way.

What cause is most important to you? And who are you talking to, in the community impacted by that cause, who can let you know honestly if the support you envision is actual support? What are you willing to invest and share to make this happen? Time? Talent? Resources? Connections? Where is your place of overflow … that you can pour into that cause?’”
