The hot topic right now is AI. I'll repeat again, in my opinion, AI will change the world...slowly. The next 5-10 years will be about who can harness AI and use it as a tool the best. After that? Who knows, anyone who tells you they know where the world is 10 years from now is either delusional, or a liar.

For a while now we have been using tools like Jasper to help us with content for websites, but never fully on its on. A friend Dom Wells, recently did a test of some fully AI written content, and it seems he has a fantastic take on it all, check it out below:

I'll keep everyone here up to date on our tests, and in the mean time? We are still building content sites, looking for microsaas companies to acquire, and advising on ALL types of online business acquisitions.

The world will always change, it always has been and always will. Its our opportunity and responsibility to change with it as entrepreneurs.

This Week’s Opportunities

This week let's look at 2 listings. The first is a small content site from Motion Invest, the listing can be seen here​

Lets get some of the things we don't like out of the way:

Things we don't like:

• This is fully reliant on search and with all the AI changes coming, I believe some content sites will have drops in traffic for certain keywords in the next couple months
• There arent many options we see to improve monetization
• Site is already using a "premium" ad network/ad ops (mediavine)

Ok Y'all! things we do like:

• The top 10 keywords have been on a mostly upwards trend over the past year (according to Ahrefs).
• 92% of the current ranking keywords have informational intent (according to SEMRUSH). The buyer can focus on updating and improving the content that is already on the site.
• The traffic is nice and spread out among the articles.
• The site has some solid backlinks (via Buzzfeed.com, beerconnoisseur.com, etc.)
• Ranking for 9,852 keywords on the first page.

A new owner could:

• Set up an email pop up and banners on the site to capture 1% (reasonable for this niche) of visitors into email subscribers. That would mean 1600+ new subs a month. A newsletter might be tough to figure out what to put in it. I would consider a daily email with interesting slang terms. Candidly, it would be a very low paying niche and I wouldnt expect more than .10 or so in revenue per month per sub. At .10 per a sub in revenue per month that would give the new owner $1920+ a month in new revenue at the end of 12 months. Increasing the value of the site by $70,000 or so.
• Search for weaker competitors in Ahrefs and create content around keywords they are targeting, so that the new owner could over take them
• Try Ezoic or Adthrive to see if there was more money to be made from display ads.

With all these changes (if it all went right) one might be able to 3x their investment on this site in 12 months, and sell site for $125K + capture $30k in the first 12 months.

On to the next opportunity, this one is a marketing agency for sale through Barney, the listing can be here​

This agency prides themselves on being a “one-stop-shop” for media buying, design, social media management, PR and advertising services. The team is highly trained across the full suite of marketing services, equipping each team member to think holistically about the businesses that they represent. They are experts at analyzing and anticipating the needs of clients by creating a successful marketing plan that enhances all components of the business.

Key Info:

• Trailing 12 Months revenue - $1,386,143
• Trailing 12 Months EBIDTA - $381,720
• Founded in 2009
• Approved to work on specific projects with Federal Government
• For sale for $1M

For many this wouldnt be a fit, but for the right team/person? This could be a perfect acquisition.

As always...do your own due diligence, the above is based off of what I see as an opportunity from the info provided in the listing and some light due diligence, not a deep dive. It just one of many scenarios that could play out and its up to you to do your own due diligence and see if this makes sense for you!
