  1. Summary
On Monday Fox News parted ways with Tucker Carlson, its most popular host. Carlson's exit comes one week after Fox admitted to making false claims about the 2020 election in its settlement with Dominion Voting Systems. The settlement unveiled private statements from Carlson disparaging former President Trump and Fox executives.

Some suggested Carlson was fired for promoting false election claims, though Reason's Robby Soave notes Carlson publicly denounced a Trump campaign attorney for failing to provide proof of widespread fraud. Media outlets have reported that Fox Corp's leadership was upset with Carlson's coverage of the Jan. 6 riot, and that a pending sexual discrimination lawsuit from a former Carlson show worker could also have played a role.

Meanwhile, CNN host Don Lemon was fired on Monday, a move some analysts anticipated because of growing coverage of Lemon's alleged misogynistic behavior in the workplace. On Sunday Jeff Shell resigned as NBC Universal's CEO over an "inappropriate relationship" with a coworker.

Should federal judges be allowed to nullify FDA authorizations?

Context: Federal judge voids FDA's two-decade-old approval of abortion pill; Supreme Court stays ruling.

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

No - FDA approval of medical drugs and devices (while not perfect) is a very rigorous, multi-year long process that requires massive amounts of funding, time, and multiple levels of trials. Judges are not medical professionals trained to comb through the trial research and the studies’ strengths and shortcomings. Just as you wouldn’t expect doctors to be trained to do the job of judges, the reverse is also true in my eyes.
