Now I want to be clear....

It's not that buying a business is 100% guaranteed win, it's just MUCH MORE LIKELY to be a major win. And GUARANTEED to be making money on day one.

On another note. Ive been doing deeper dives into testing many AI tools and have formed more opinions on SEO and organic search traffic.

If you have have a content site, be aware, over the next 2-3 years some search terms may lose traffic, BUT there are going to be several opportunities in the space.

1. Making your best content EVEN BETTER. Some search terms are NOT going to be taken over by ai written results. The more your pages have custom videos, and personal experience the better.
2. Other keywords are going to have Ai answers at the top of the page, those ones might be ones we create mass AI content for as well
3. Backlinks! Google showed their new search. There are still going to be 3 results at the top of the page before all the others, and Id bet backlinks will be a big factor to decide which of those are at the top!
4. Create a newsletter - you can now make a newsletter with Ai and have it be written and sent with 2 mins of work
5. Create a community around your niche
6. Create amazing content on social that links to your site. The content linked to can be made with Ai - AND the social media content

Of course many of you aren't owners of or buying content sites, but for those that are? There are some amazing opportunities with a little effort and pivot from what you were doing before.

Here is a breakdown of a site. The listing can be seen here​

Site Summary:

An Amazon FBA, display advertising, and affiliate business created in June 2017 in the pet care niche. The business comes with two WordPress sites and an Amazon account registered through Amazon Brand Registry.

It sells 3 SKUs related to game-type products for a household pet. The business has experienced solid year-over-year growth in revenue and the top-selling SKUs have a 4.2-star rating or greater across thousands of reviews. This business requires minimal time to maintain.

​Things we don't like:

• Sells in the UK, so a buyer will need to get registered with VAT, which can take up to 3 months or more. Or they’d have to close that channel off.
• Comes with display ads and affiliate sites so a buyer will need to have some knowledge of SEO or have an editor to edit content—the owners currently do this themselves.
• Logistics is reliant on only one supplier located in China.
• Affiliate sites use expert writers on the About Us page. Some of the SEO traffic is reliant on their names, so a buyer would probably need to keep paying them to contribute writing to maintain site traffic.
• According to the seller, the listing pages had a high bounce rate because the packs were too large and expensive. Though they’ve just launched smaller packs and expect those to sell well.
• Inventory management hasn’t been the best in the business’ history. The seller notes they’ve been out of stock a few times. The seller buys as and when needed instead of ordering in bulk.

Ok Y'all! things we do like:

• Solid metrics: profit margins, TACoS, COGS, year-over-year growth.
• Affiliate sites are well-built: diverse traffic sources, nice spread across the sites, and ranks highly for some relevant keywords.
• Comes with an on-the-ground inventory manager contact in China.
• Multiple revenue streams. Not 100% reliant on Amazon.
• Has an audience off Amazon that can be used for product launches, upsells, and remarketing.
• Comes with products ready to be launched. The seller has had great feedback for these products. And they’re hard to make, so difficult for competitors to replicate. Plus, the seller has a trademark pending for them.
• The brand and products are protected by trademarks.

A new owner could:

• Build a Shopify store on the affiliate sites to sell products off Amazon. This would diversify the ecommerce side of the business.
• Build an email list from the affiliate site traffic. Can use this list for product launches and sales, or build an email newsletter to nurture the customer base.
• Sell the products that are ready for launch and optimize inventory management to prevent stock outs and reduce COGS.

Final Thoughts:

​

This is a solid Amazon FBA business on its own, but it also comes with established and profitable affiliate and display ads sites that support the brand and diversify the business.

It comes with plenty of growth assets. Especially the products ready for launch are quick-win ROI opportunities.

In the long term, optimizing inventory management and experimenting with product pack sizes and pricing to get sales more consistent will help stabilize the business and set it up for the next level of growth.

It’s a business with potential whether you understand content sites or not. You can outsource content production and editing and focus more on the Amazon side of the biz and even use the affiliate sites to expand the ecommerce arm. If you have knowledge of SEO and affiliate, then you can grow that side of the business to diversify the business’ earning power and make the asset more secure.

It just one of many scenarios that could play out and its up to you to do your own due diligence and see if this makes sense for you!
