CrossFit, pilates, jiu jitsu, hot yoga, kickboxing, and your old-fashioned gym. Working out is hard. So, to get moving, people lean on community.

Writing is just as hard as staying fit, but there are no spin classes for creativity. Writers often go at it alone, feeling isolated and vulnerable. Without someone to push you, it becomes much harder to share your ideas.  

But what if there was a workout class for your mind? What if you could write, edit, and publish a piece you’re proud of in a single day?

We’re excited to introduce Writing Sprints, our first-ever one-day writing workshops. Get ready for an all-out blitz to take you from an idea to a published article.

Maybe it’s fear. Maybe it’s imposter syndrome. But something is standing between you and the “Publish” button. You stay a consumer, rather than becoming a creator.

But deep down, you know you can make that leap. You can write that article. You can launch that newsletter. You can share your ideas and watch them spread across the Internet, like schmear on a New York bagel.

Imagine if you could go from consumer to creator in one barrier-breaking day. Well, the only way to make a change is to take action.

What To Expect from Writing Sprints 

Within a day, you’ll develop your idea, write a draft, receive feedback, and — with one triumphant click — hit that “Publish” button.

Step 1: Write Your Draft

You’ll workshop your idea and write your first draft in a live, two-hour writing blitz. Say adios to your inner critic — working against the clock quiets your mind and gets you moving. 

Step 2: Sharpen Your Piece

You’ll revise your draft, but you won’t go at it alone. Jump into live, 1-on-1 feedback calls with our trained editors as needed. Then, receive thorough, written feedback as soon as your draft is ready. 

Step 3: Hit “Publish” 

You’ll rejoin the group for your push to the finish. Make your final changes and polish your piece. And no last-minute panic — you’ll publish with everyone in real-time to get you over the finish line.

With encouragement from your peers and feedback from our skilled editors, you’ll publish a piece you’re proud of. 

At the end of it all, you’ll feel sweaty and tired but satisfied and fulfilled — just like a runner’s high. You’ll refresh and re-read your post and smile each time you hit your favorite paragraph. 

Maybe a stranger will leave a comment saying how much your idea resonates with them. Or maybe a coworker will stop you at the water cooler and say, “I didn't know you were a writer!”
