→ Is this the biggest AI collab yet? Bing and ChatGPT are teaming up, with Bing being ChatGPT's default search engine. This is huge for ChatGPT, which will now be able to give current, up-to-date information.

→ On top of this, Microsoft introduced new plug-ins and copilots worth looking into. For example, Microsoft Fabric is an AI-powered analytics platform making some big promises to do what something like GA4 does, only better. Power Pages simplifies website creation and is the first tool to utilize AI assistance to "build business data-centric sites using natural language." Tons more, too.

→ Shortly after Sam Altman & the OpenAI crew voiced their support for industry regulations, Google has also put forward some interesting policy initiatives and ideas based on "(1) unlocking opportunity through innovation and inclusive economic growth; (2) ensuring responsibility and enabling trust; and (3) protecting global security."

→ The rise of chatbots has definitely correlated with a higher quantity of content creation. But its impact on content discovery? For many marketers, this is a worry.

→ If your video content took a dip in May, you’re not the only one. Google has confirmed there was a Search bug that seriously impacted video traffic… So, maybe chill out if you were completely re-thinking your video strategy based on those results.

→ Google finally confirms it accounts for "topical authority" as a ranking factor and gives a bit of clarification as to what that means from the inside. What Google is calling "Topic Authority" is, as it pertains to news content specifically, a system that will boost local reporting and original content that is reputable as a source familiar with the content at hand.

Overcoming the Challenges of Influencer Marketing ✨
It’s 2023 and influencer marketing has gone beyond making its presence felt. In many ways, this tactic is a force to be reckoned with. But it comes with some unique challenges.

This piece by Semrush looks at 7 challenges and offers some guidance for overcoming them.

Some of it seems very simple: influencer doesn't follow the brief? Well, you make sure that the briefs are clearer, improve your communication by being specific and detailed about the brief and your expectations, and bridge any creative gap that may reveal itself between you and the influencer. Simple enough, yeah?

Other challenges include: missed deadlines (wouldn't be me), low-quality content, incomplete campaign reporting, and more. Gotta say, was impressed with this look into some of the complications of influencer collabs, as well as the solutions offered.

→ Some takeaways from this Elon-era Twitter data: 20% of U.S. adults produce 98% of all tweets by U.S. adults, and 25% of users don’t expect to be using Twitter in 12 Months. Regarding the second one: lol, will believe it when I see it.
