YouTube built its reputation on expert, longform video. But in the past couple years, this platform has been heavily pushing short form video. Even though short form video definitely has potential, viewers don't seem to agree 100% with YouTube's push on Shorts.

How do we know that? Because viewers keep searching, watching, and liking longform content! Videos that are over 60 minutes long are still turning up regularly in YouTube's top trending lists.

Good news is, even though this platform is outwardly focusing on short form content, the algorithm still favors longform videos. Quick clips will get you views on other social networks—but on YouTube, your longform, expert content will build an organic audience over time. Videos which are geared toward helping viewers can build up millions of views.

The best YouTube strategy is a slow burn. In fact, you only need to post one video a week to create a successful channel... so long as you have the right strategy and data to back it up.
