If everything online worked as well as it’s presented, you wouldn’t need this issue because you’d already be successful, Yet, there’s something you’re not doing, or don’t know, which others are keeping from you.

Imagine you’re 140kg and want to run a marathon.

People will suggest buying the best running shoes and the best sports clothes for flexibility and give you a training plan.

But perhaps it’s more practical to start by losing weight.

This is where I see most beginner entrepreneurs go wrong.

They want success but are metaphorically “140kg”.

It’s not about doing more things or having an extra morning routine.

There are habits in your life you need to let go of first to achieve your goals.

In this issue, I’ll share five common mistakes I see in most beginners and likely why you haven’t reached where you want to be.

FEAR OF MISSING OUT.

First, we discuss the ‘fear of missing out’ (FOMO).

Ever spend an evening scrolling through Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube shorts, seeing others having fun or living seemingly extraordinary lives, and start doubting yourself?

Despite nothing being wrong in your life, social media makes you feel like you’re missing out or should be somewhere else.

Social media is designed to keep you hooked and make you feel this way, I understand because I’ve been there.

At 19, working on my business at home, I’d see friends partying on Snapchat, making it hard to stay focused.

Remember, difficult choices now mean a more leisurely life later.

To lead a successful life, you must stop giving in to FOMO. 

My advice is straightforward: delete TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, and Yes, even though you’re active on these platforms. In the beginning, focus is critical.

These platforms won’t help you reach your full potential.

BEING IN YOUR COMFORT ZONE.

Secondly, we often hear, “Listen to your gut feeling”,

but this advice isn’t always best for success. When I started my first business, it was scary, and my gut told me not to do it.

But success lies outside your comfort zone.

If you always listen to your gut,

You’ll live a very ordinary life.

There’s a time to trust your instincts, like avoiding scams, but for achieving success, often it’s doing about what scares you.

BECOMING A VICTIM.

Third, avoid becoming a ‘victim’ - people who constantly complain that things never go their way.

This mindset won’t bring you success or abundance.

Appreciate what you have.

If you view yourself as a victim and constantly complain, you won’t attract success.

Keep away from complainers and take 100% responsibility for your life.

NOT FOCUSING ON YOURSELF.

Stop gossiping and talking negatively about others.

It’s a sign of insecurity and wasted energy you could invest in yourself.

If you’re more focused on others than on yourself, it’s not a wonder you’re not progressing.

Stop indulging in gossip and focus on your growth instead.

Your life is like a videogame, and you’re the character.

Do you want to control the game or let others control it for you?

People pleasing will only hold you back from achieving true success and freedom.

Instead, make choices that align with your goals and aspirations.

To sum up, if you want to be successful, it’s not just about doing more; it’s about letting go of bad habits.

Fear of missing out, ignoring your gut when it holds you back, playing the victim, gossiping, and people-pleasing are all habits that will keep you from reaching your potential.

Recognize these habits in yourself and work on changing them.

This is the path to a life of freedom and abundance, which we’re all chasing.

Remember, it’s your action today that will shape your future.

Make the right choices, force yourself, and build the life you dream of.
