Starter Story - "so you made 1 cent per hour?"

On Jan. 7 2018 I made my first internet dollar:

A whopping $3.32

I couldn’t even buy myself lunch.

What's even crazier... is on that same day, I got my paycheck (from my 9-5 job).

The deposit was for: $3,274.

But... that 9-5 money felt worthless.

Instead, I stared at that $3.32 for HOURS.

It was the turning point. The most important $3 I ever made.

Why?

Well, I was already making good money with my day job, right?

I had a regular, steady paycheck. Twice per month.

But honestly, I didn't feel like I deserved that money.

I'd show up, write a few lines of code, and then magically get thousands of dollars deposited into my account.

It just felt like... it could evaporate at any moment.

I didn't feel in control of my future.

I wanted something that was 100% mine.

So every morning, I built.
Late into the nights, I built.
Even when I didn’t want to… I built.

I didn’t always know what I was doing.

Most days felt like I was running in the mud.

But I was building something that I owned.

And after many months and hundreds of hours…

Finally,

That first dollar.

Pennies compared to my paycheck.

I did the math.

I was making ~1¢ per hour.

But you know what?

Those $3 bucks unlocked something that I never knew existed:

Making money on my own terms.

Internet money feels like magic.

You almost don't believe it's possible until it happens to you.

It feels like a miracle.

That some stranger on the internet would actually pay me for something I created.

That someone you will never meet, used their hard-earned money to buy YOUR thing.

It’s batsh*t crazy when you think about it.

And that’s the beauty of it.

See, there’s this crazy agreement you make with yourself when you start building.

You agree to trade a lot of time for a little amount of money.

But in exchange, you learn a skill that 99% of people don’t have: how to make money.

Sure, you might have a few months of nothing.

But one day – when it finally clicks – you will start to print money from thin air.

That’s the power of entrepreneurship.
