Y Combinator - 💥 Doing things that don't scale

This Week at YC

June 2nd, 2024

And we’re back! There was no newsletter last week due to the holiday, but that means I’ve got even more to share this week than usual.

Here’s some of what’s new lately:

It’s something we say a lot around here: if you build something you need for your job, chances are good others need it too. This week I chatted with Jacob Eiting, co-founder of RevenueCat, about how he and his co-founder found a pain point in their own lives as developers, fixed it, then grew that into tools now used by 30,000+ applications.

In this latest Dalton & Michael, the pair talk about the rare moments that bring a tremendous amount of opportunity for startup founders, and who tends to find those opportunities.

There’s a new episode of Office Hours! In this episode the Group Partners look back on Paul Graham’s 2013 essay “Do Things That Don’t Scale”, how it changed the startup world, and share some examples of YC founders that lived out that mantra.

Be well!

Greg
