How To Manage Up While Working From Home | What You Need To Know About Virtual Babysitting | Your Guide To Remote Recruiting

If you’ve been working from home with kids in tow for the past month, you’re probably missing your childcare right about now. Lucky for you, just as doctors and personal trainers have been offering their services virtually, so have babysitters. According to Elizabeth Harz, CEO of Sittercity, a platform that connects parents with sitters and nannies, demand for virtual babysitters has increased 700% in the last month.

Fair warning: Virtual babysitting has its limits. Diapers still need to be changed, and PB&J sandwiches still need to be made. But if all you need is a few uninterrupted minutes to concentrate on work, it’s an option worth exploring. “If both parents have Zoom meetings at the same time that they can’t get out of, virtual sitting is a wonderful option,” Harz says. “The sessions can be used to assist kids with schoolwork, facilitate interactive games or simply keep them occupied.”

And here’s more on everything you need to know about working from home during the coronavirus pandemic.

In any case, you had a routine that was essential to helping you disconnect from work. By replicating that ritual at home, you’ll be better equipped to find a balance between work and life.
