A round-up of the 5 most interesting sites added to Raptive and Mediavine over the last 30 days

Mediavine and Raptive had a pretty busy 30 days - adding about 124 new sites total (vs 95 last month, as tracked by Display Ad Daily).

As a reminder, this monthly round-up email only showcases sites that just recently met the traffic requirements of Mediavine or Raptive.

That way we're looking at sites that Google is rewarding right now - as we speak.

There has been loots of chatter lately about SEO being "dead" and folks "moving on from organic traffic".

But from what I can see, there are still LOADS of DR 10 and under sites doing very well.

SEO ain't dead...yet.

This is a brand new site that has been on fire.

The idea is pretty simple - it's basically a database of all the different types of fonts that you can download for free.

Each font has its own dedicated page, and they even give you some ideas of how and when to use each font type.

For instance: "The News Gothic font not only finds its application in the printed media but is also used widely in advertising, branding, and packaging."

2. Amortization

Another really simple concept - Amortization.org provides calculators for home loans.

But where they are really killing it with traffic are their dedicated mortgage payment pages.

They basically created a dedicated page for every single monthly mortgage amount and then pre-populate all the data based on that amount.

Which is smart, because most people come up with the amount of money they could spend on a mortgage each month and then use that information to back into how much house they can afford.

So for instance if you Google "$3,000 mortgage is how much house" you'll see Amortization.org as the first result.

3. Simply Love Coloring

Simply Love Coloring offers loads of free, downloadable and printable coloring pages for kids.

They provide the outlines, you print them out and your kids color them in.

Loads of traffic coming in from Pokemon and Spiderman specific coloring pages.

Not sure of the potential copyright issues or trademark infringements there, but for now this site is killing it.

4. Hoofin Horse

This site's traffic has literally gone vertical in the last 30 days.

It's a site dedicated to all things horse - they even sell a lot of horse riding gear.

Which is a smart niche to go after, because you know who typically has a lot of money? Folks who ride horses 😅

What's most interesting to me though is that the majority of their traffic is coming from long-tail keywords (I thought those were supposed to be dead?).

They rank for queries like "biggest horse breeds" and "what is a baby horse called". I guess this approach is still working for some!

5. Bright Sprouts

Bright Sprouts is another kid-centric website.

They also provide printable worksheets and coloring guides, but they take things much further -they offer loads of different ideas for kids play/activities and even full curriculums.

By targeting keywords like "fun questions to ask kids" and "kindness activities for kindergarten" they are probably targeting moms and teachers.

BONUS: Calculator Soup

This site has had millions of visitors a month for over a decade! But it was just too good a find - I had to share it with you.

The site itself is incredibly simple, and the design is as basic as they come.

Calculator Soup provides calculators for anything and everything you can possibly imagine.

Need a "Troy Weight Conversion Calculator", or a "Net Present Value Calculator"? How about a "Deferred Fixed Annuity Calculator"?

I would LOVE to know how much this site has earned over the last 10 years. What an absolute gem.

If you've started to feel like organic traffic isn't worth it, or that it's impossible to rank in Google these days, look no further than Display Ad Daily.

So many incredible examples of simple sites ranking really well.

New ones pop up every single day.

It's still possible to win with organic.

Just don't solely depend on it.
