The Steal Club - 🕵️‍♂️ Kobe Bryant was a thief

Michael Jordan is arguably one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

He is also responsible for inspiring thousands of kids to want to be like him.

One of these kids was Kobe Bryant.

The late Lakers legend admitted more than once that he looked up to Michael Jordan.

Kobe wanted to be the best player in the world, so he set his eyes on Jordan, the G.O.A.T.

If you have ever watched Kobe play, his moves on the basketball court were EXACTLY the same as Jordan's.

Especially early on, he literally stole Mike's moves.

The jump shot, the post game...even the competitive mentality.

Over time, he developed his skills and style of play.

But he started by Stealing what Jordan did.

And he still ended up as one of the greatest players ever.

So why am I telling you this?

This quote by Austin Kleon, author of Steal Like an Artist sums it up:

"Nobody is born with a style or voice. In the beginning, we learn by pretending to be our heroes. We learn by copying."

Meaning that early on, it’s okay to copy what others are doing.

Not only that, I strongly believe it’s the best path forward.

If you try to figure out this audience growth and content creation thing by yourself, you eventually will.

But it might take you months. Or even years.

What if instead, you took a look at people who already succeeded at growing an audience and are prolific content creators and “stole” from them?

Just like Kobe did with Mike?

Matt’s core message is that scaling your audience with content is way simpler if you use proven systems.

This might seem like a small thing, but it’s something you should do if you want to grow and monetize your audience.

Why?

Branding yourself gives one more layer of clarity to your brand.

People who check your profile decide whether to follow you in less than three seconds.

Putting a label on yourself is a great way to make sure people quickly understand what you are about.

With time, you’ll start to get recognized for that 👇

You don’t need a huge audience to do this.

In fact, I would encourage you to do it right away so you start building on top of that tag early on.

When you tag yourself and focus your content around that label, you start to get known for it.

This tag will become associated with your online presence over time, making you more recognizable.
