#1 - A gamified referral system

Productoon is an illustrated newsletter I recently discovered that shows you how to use edutainment to grow your business.

This is the type of content Adam (the author) shares:

But this is not what caught my attention. The thing that made my thief senses tingle was his referral system, which is pretty unique:

→ At the bottom of each newsletter, you’ll find this message 👇️ 

→ Once you click, it will take you to this page, with a very clear message: refer a friend, and you’ll get a chance to be featured in the newsletter…with a twist

Here’s what I like about this referral system:

Most referral systems benefit the person referring.

“Send over X subs and you’ll get XYZ thing”

In this case, it applies to both. As a result, the person who refers gets to appear in the newsletter, but the person who receives the referral has a strong incentive to join, which is to make fun of their friend.

Double the incentives!

#2 - Sharing links on Linkedin without the reach penalty

Adding a link directly to your post is the biggest no-no for creators.

Social media platforms dislike it when you redirect your audience away from them.

So, why do big creators like Justin Welsh include links to all their LinkedIn posts?

Do they have a VIP pass with the algorithm?

Not really.

But they have found a way to bend the rules in their favor.

Here's how Justin does it:

Whenever he creates a new post, he publishes it WITHOUT the link.

First, he lets the algorithm do its work and score the post as if it's a non-link, regular post.

Then, a few hours later, he jumps in and EDITS the post to add a Call to Action WITH a link 👇

By doing this, he gets the best of both worlds: a post without capped reach and the ability to add a link.

#3 - Set up a Google alert for content ideas

Set up a Google alert that looks like:

“Your target audience” + Challenges

I tested with Marketers + Challenges and in a few seconds, I already got 3 content ideas 👇

Why should you do that?

“Challenges” means problem.

Problems need solutions.

Creating content that solves these problems = 💰

Google alerts make it easier for you to find those problems and ensure they are current.
