💵 10 People + AI = Billion Dollar Company?

This Week at YC

July 7th, 2024

Hey all!

Two of the mantras always on repeat at YC are: make something people want, and talk to your users. This newsletter is a good example of that in practice. Shortly after I took over the newsletter, we reached out to the people who read it most actively and asked them which parts they liked most. By focusing on those bits — and trimming the bits no one really mentioned — the audience numbers rocketed across the board.

With that said: I (Greg) am wrapping up my time at YC in a few days, so this'll probably be the last newsletter with my name on it. It’s been a blast putting these together for you all each week, and getting to know the many of you who’ve reached out via email. Come say hi on X/Twitter!

Be well, be excellent to each other, and make something people want.

10 People + AI = Billion Dollar Company?

As AI continues to evolve and advance, a line of thinking has emerged that humans will no longer need to learn how to write code in the future. If so, could this mean that a staff of ten or less could create a unicorn? The hosts of Lightcone analyze this prediction and discuss whether it has merit.
