|
A lot of people hop into the content game and just pump out whatever. |
They think it’ll get them leads or engagement. |
That couldn’t be farther from the truth. |
As someone whose built personal brands for 200+ agency owners, info sellers, founders, and CMO’s of all sizes — it’s only normal I’ve run into this issue before. |
You’re dealing with 2 problems right now |
You’re not getting any followers You’re not getting any engagement
|
And as a result of both of those you’re not getting any lead flow either. |
This is because you’re falling down the content void. |
|
The content void is essentially the valley of despair. |
You’re pouring in all your efforts and getting little to know return. |
Most often people fall into this void because they don’t understand that creating content does NOT equal engagement nor lead flow. |
Your follower count means nothing either. |
The way any social media post works is: |
|
It’s all about that initial group of people that your content gets shown to after posting. |
You need group 1 to engage in order for the algorithm to send your content to group 2, 3, 4, and so on and so forth. |
That’s your first problem: You don’t even have your first group. |
Luckily though you can hack this instead of banking on the luck of the first people who see your content. |
And the way you hack it is you form the group yourself. |
You do this by finding your DREAM 100. |
|
You’re not “networking” with people. |
You’re not “making connections” with people. |
You’re befriending them. Like you did when you were in high school. |
Comment under their posts, talk to them in DMs, joke with them, etc. |
These people are gonna be your first group. |
They’re gonna give your posts that initial boost it needs for the algorithm to show it to the next group. |
That’s how you hack this process. |
Your second problem is you lack exposure in the first place. |
The easiest way to get your hands on exposure is through growth networks. |
I’m not talking about BS engagement groups with motivational accounts that give you useless followers. |
I’m talking about real accounts with real audiences that give you real, target followers. |
The one I have my clients on right now gets them results for that in as little as days. |
Works for both Twitter and LinkedIn. |
|
You can read more about it and get access here |
If you want an in-depth guide explaining this entire email I made a YouTube video about it you can watch here |
Your third problem is your content isn’t purposeful. |
People think the content game is as simple as: |
Grow following → Sell them something → Make money |
Yes I know TECHNICALLY that is the framework, but it isn’t a braindead process. |
The foundation that builds the greatest personal brands is the fact that every single piece of content has a purpose. |
All content falls into 1 of 4 categories: |
Personal takes (Life & Business) Story posts Technical posts Authority posts
|
Ironically the funnel also works in that order too. |
TOF - Personal takes and stories |
MOF - Technical |
BOF - Authority |
I’ll explain all of those and what their purposes are. |
Personal takes and stories attract followers. |
|
The point of these is to go viral by casting a wide net that gets you followers who view you as an authority. |
Not pointless followers who wanna be entertained by scrolling. |
You want targeted followers who wanna be educated when they’re scrolling. |
Technical posts nurture followers. |
|
Here you’re trying to get people to implement your strategies for free. |
If they implement them and they work you’ve built a massive amount of authority with them. |
These can be how-tos, strategy breakdowns, and roadmaps. |
You’re not giving basic bread and butter platitude advice like “Lol go to the gym and get money” |
You’re giving real advice that helps real people solve real problems. |
And authority posts convert followers. |
|
Here people realize you know what you’re talking about. |
Your strategies worked. |
Now they trust you. |
Now they wanna pay you for more. |
With all the content types behind explained it’s important you understand there’s a bunch of different ways you can go about pushing all of this. |
Twitter is no longer Twitter. It’s X now. |
And Elon intends it to be the everything app. |
He wants X is overtake every other social media platform out there. |
The Utopians knew this way before most people and have already adapted to it. |
They get access to all the tools, playbooks, and workshops that were only created by business owner who’ve generated at least $1,000,000 in revenue online. |
You can get access to it for less than a cup of coffee a day here |
Twitter has been the king of written content since its inception, but now Elon aims for it to be the king of media content as well. |
That means photo and video content. |
He’s shifted his algorithm to begin to start favoring media content to achieve his goal of taking over all socials. |
So naturally you can’t bank on just written content. |
If you do create written content, you should include images or videos alongside it. |
I’ve done plenty of these with my clients and you can adapt it regardless of which piece of content it is. |
For story content just include images relevant to what you’re talking about. |
|
Same thing applies to personal takes. |
For personal takes though one of my favorite content vehicles are raw rants. |
These are just raw unedited videos where you sit in front of a camera and talk whatever is on your mind. |
|
When it comes to technical content there’s a plethora of ways to go about integrating media. |
Something unique I’ve done with my clients are visual breakdowns. |
|
You can create these on Miro or Gamma. |
If you’d like to go the extra mile, instead of breaking them down with a long form tweet you can just simply do it with video. |
|
The sweet part about this is that you can turn it into a series. |
Yeah, like a movie series. Part 1, Part 2, etc. |
If you attract people who like part 7 for example they’ll probably feel compelled to go and rewatch the previous ones and trust you even more. |
|
If you don’t feel like getting your hands dirty with design or hiring someone to do them for you, you can always opt for drawn-out images instead. |
You might be thinking “Well I suck at drawing.” |
That’s fine. |
I’m not Picasso. |
And despite that, these have worked wonders for myself and my clients. |
|
Your fourth problem is you aren’t weaving the algorithm in your favor. |
What changed with the algorithm within the past few years? |
Why was it so easy before and why is it more difficult now? |
It changed because Elon is now making this a full AI-based algorithm |
Back in the day all that mattered was the 'Following' page |
But now Elon has introduced the For You page (FYP) and reach is based off of that now |
So the most important and greatest content is what pops off the most |
The FYP is all based off giving any account — regardless of size — the chance to go viral |
What other platform does this sound like? TikTok |
X/Twitter has effectively become the written version of TikTok |
The old styles of content that relied on our following to engage no longer work |
Everyone is now naturally on the FYP |
Only a small % of your followers actually see your content |
The rest is going to be pushed out to more people based on how well that tweet does in the first couple hours |
Our objective is to get on as many FYPs as possible |
BUT REMEMBER: |
We’re trying to use the FYP to obtain targeted followers. |
X/Twitter is no longer a social platform. |
It's an interest-based platform. |
|
So this is what we have to do: |
|
And that gives us room to manipulate the algorithm to show up on more people's FYPs |
However we still need this bank of people who are always going to see our content; |
A strong base of individuals who are also engaging with us |
How do we do that? Comments |
X/Twitter is the only social media platform that truly rewards commenting |
If someone clicks on my profile I'll end up on their FYP |
If I commend and someone responds they'll see me on their FYP |
Find similar accounts in your niche whom you could consider competition if you had their size Go under their best performing posts Find comments that are asking questions Answer those questions in great detail BEFORE the original poster Drag out the conversation (X loves discussions) Use the answers you gave to create future content
|
Drop as many comments as possible |
The more, the merrier |
Alex Finn suggests commenting 100x/day |
X is pushing replies heavily because ads get seen more if people are scrolling through replies |
Remember to only real comments that actually add to the conversation |
This goes back to what we discussed earlier. Do NOT be an NPC. |
Talk to people on X/Twitter how you would in real life |
The goal is to |
Leverage the poster's following for eyes on your value Get the poster to reply to you because this will boost your content Build real connections with real people, be it the poster or people engaging with you
|
And that just about wraps it up. |
Those are the 4 biggest issues people struggle with when it comes to getting leads or engagement. |
Implement these strategies and let me know what happens. |
The Utopians get early access to these strategies and their updates before I send them out to anyone else. |
They learn how to generate leads and close clients even if they don’t have the case studies or testimonials beforehand all thanks to their personal brands. |
And don’t worry, this isn’t some overpriced course. I hate those. I refuse to reduce myself to a grifter. |
