How much do you think Nerds Gummy Clusters makes per year?

Hi all,

I’ve just started reading Nuclear Folly: A History of the Cuban Missile Crisis. I’m about 5 chapters in and so far it’s very good! I’ll link to it again later if I finish it/think it’s worth reading.

Also Taylor Pearson had a great response to my question about whether you have to be less concerned about other people in order to be successful, I’m just gonna quote the whole thing here, the italics is all Taylor:

I've thought a lot about your question and lately been thinking about it through the lens of Big 5 personality research.

My sense is that a lot of the stories we hear about these types of people is that they tend to be very low in agreeableness (or high in disagreeableness as it were).

On some level, this is probably useful (maybe necessary?) to starting big, disruptive companies. On a certain level, sociopaths are productive.

I am pretty agreeable (65th percentile) and so I too find it hard to do things like this. I don't have a before/after but my guess is that I am currently the least agreeable I have been in my life. I tended to always be too passive and I have tried really hard to train myself out of that over years. Even so I am still quite agreeable (certainly compared to males my age). Should I continue trying to work on being less agreeable? I think it is worth it, certainly in particular contexts (mainly work).

However, I think I am unlikely to ever get THAT far (and agreeableness tends to increase with age so it's a bit Sisyphean) and so I do think more about structuring things around me to work for that.

Who are people that made relatively large impacts with relatively high levels of agreeableness is an interesting question.

Peter Drucker probably wasn't that disagreeable but was tremendously impactful so he's one person I have thought about.

I think some types of investors as well. Buffett doesn't strike me as particularly disagreeable. Sam Walton strikes me as disagreeable, Sol Price strikes me as fairly agreeable?

Broadly, I have the suspicions that disagreeable people tend to also be impatient people and I've found that one way I can outcompete those people is simply being willing to play games that benefit from compound interest (and thus longer timelines).
