Y Combinator’s Work at a Startup Expo on Thursday, December 3rd
Y Combinator runs our annual Work at a Startup Expo as a way of introducing promising YC startups to engineers (and others) who want to learn more about startups and might consider working at one. This year’s event is happening on Thursday, December 3rd and will be entirely online, including both the founder pitches and the virtual expo hall. Sign up here!

Partnering with CodePath and ColorStack to support future technical founders
YC was founded around the idea that technologists should be at the center of tech innovation. It seems obvious today, but it wasn’t always that way. We believe that technology startups should include a technical founder because it is critical that a CTO have a seat at the table where key decisions regarding the future of the startup are made. When it comes to deciding what to do with technology, technical founders know what the options are and what kinds of problems are hard and which are easy. Because of this core thesis, over the years we have actively done outreach to computer science majors in order to explain the advantages of being a startup founder.

Building for the future
YC was founded in 2005 as an antidote to the classic venture capital firm. PG, Jessica, Trevor, and Robert decided to fund hackers and thereby enable the next generation of startup founders who would understand technology and its capabilities. Over the ensuing 15 years YC developed into a startup institution, one which we believe will continue to help founders create epic companies for decades to come.
