How To Stop Wasting Time At Work | Ways To Advance Your Career During Leadership Changes | The New Future Of Meetings

Hi Forbes Careers readers,

Yesterday, I discovered something shocking, though not necessarily surprising. Due to a constant barrage of meetings and emails,
less than 40% of my working hours are free to focus (thanks, Microsoft Workplace Analytics data).

I’m sure I’m not alone. Few busy professionals manage their calendars in the most productive way and end their days frustrated that they’ve not accomplished important priorities. Here are two simple strategies you can use to avoid that time trap. If you want to reclaim your workweek, skip ahead three weeks in your calendar and take these actions to stop wasting time. A new study finds that creativity is higher in individuals working under structured conditions. Here are five ways to plan your workweek for maximum productivity.

Cheers,

Kristin

P.S. Did you know that a top women’s soccer player can expect to earn less than half what a comparable player on the men’s squad makes? This fascinating read from Forbes Careers Contributor Josie Cox explores why the playing field is not only painfully uneven, but also toxic.
