Razer's first ANC headphones, the Opus, are impressively refined. They're better than they have any right to be at this price point, putting big names like Sony on notice. The ANC is solid, using a hybrid system with feedforward and feedback mics that take measure of both external sounds and sounds reaching your ears to adjust dynamically. It does create a bit of hiss and more background noise creeps in than with a set like the Sony WH-1000XM4, but to hear someone talking to you, you'll need to press the ANC button to switch to Quick Attention mode.

Sony took the best active noise-cancelling headphones on the market and made them even better. The WH-1000XM4 have improved noise detection and cancellation, and they also add Sony's Edge-AI that rebuilds audio that's lost during digital compression. They still use the QN1 processor (whose sole purpose is noise cancellation), but now use a new algorithm developed to eliminate noise in real time. This set is great at blocking out engine noise (important for travelers) but also conversation and background noise. The WH-1000XM4 are even smart enough to detect how your personal sonic profile changes when you're wearing glasses and adjusts accordingly.

Marshall headphones have a distinctive look inspired by the guitar amps for which the the company is originally known. Rather than smaller square-ish cups (seen in their other headphones), the Monitor II has full-sized cups that fit nicely over your ears. With metal hinges, and textured, padded leather, the Monitor II ANC is instantly recognizable as a piece of high-end audio equipment. The level of careful detail extends to the buttons. Rather than covering the cups in oddly-placed buttons, they're carefully tucked away and integrated into the metal swivels. The multi-directional button is in brilliant gold and is reminiscent of an analog audio jack on an amp.
