The Forty-Five - Have you listened to Miss Grit yet?

View this email in your browser
Hello,

Well, big news this week is that we could be back to normal, whatever normal is, from June 21st. Festivals were quick to announce their comeback but according to a poll across The Forty-Five socials, 60% of you would still feel uncomfortable going to to a large-scale event this summer. Still, whether you'll be revelling with 100,000s of thousands of people or just your best mates, the summer is looking to be one of joyful reunions and for that, we are very, very grateful.

Before the year's out, we hope to have a couple of low-key, IRL events for you to come to ourselves. More on that soon. For now, here's what's been happening this week.
HBD TO THIS CHART TOPPER ðŸŽˆ
It's been five years since the release of The 1975's ridiculously-named second album, 'I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It', which bagged a No.1 spot on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2016, Sophie Williams was 15 and dealing with Generalised Anxiety Disorder. She reflects on how the album helped her – and thousands of teens like her.
ROBOTS AT REST
As Daft Punk hang up their helmets – and 'Discovery' turns 20 – Jenessa Williams considers the duo's impact through conversations with fans, writers and a Daft Punk blogger who was there from the start.
TREMORS
For this month's TREMORS, Emma Holbrook meets the new face of contemplative indie rock: Miss Grit. Her new EP, 'Impostor', is one we've had on repeat and we reckon you'll dig it too. Photographer, Joyce Lee, had a wander around Williamsburg with her for this article. Read the interview.
THE RETURN OF WOLF ALICE!
Have you heard the new Wolf Alice song yet? If not, why not? "The first two-minutes-twenty could almost be a solo record. Then we get a swell – Drums! Layers! A very Beatles-y unexpected mid-section! – and what could have been a fairly straightforward ballad in lesser hands becomes a grand, cathartic moment," says Alison Craig. Read our review and stick it on, three times, loud.
THE WORLD'S A LITTLE BLURRY
Not seen the new Billie Eilish documentary? It's out now on Apple TV. Here's what we learned about the bonafide mega star.
45s OF THE WEEK
Noname! Bright Eyes! Greentea Peng!* It's our tracks of the week.

*it's an exclamation mark kind of week.
