Buffer - How we decide what to pay our team 💸
Hi there,
One of the many things that made me fall in love with Buffer was their commitment to transparency. In addition to Buffer making their product roadmap, diversity and inclusion data, and all their code transparent, they've also had transparent salaries since 2013.
As of today, our salaries are right on the main Buffer website, not just in a Google spreadsheet link that can be tough to find. Alongside our salaries, we’re also sharing more information about how we determine pay and the principles we use in compensation overall. This past Wednesday also marked the 2021 U.S. Equal Pay Day, a day that brings awareness to the wage discrepancies that exist between men and women in the workforce. At Buffer, this day also marks the day we openly share our annual pay analysis with a comparison of the difference between what men and women earn at Buffer. This is our way of ensuring that, year over year, we're holding ourselves accountable for closing the gender gap within the Buffer team. We hope our story and journey can help others looking to tackle the gender wage gap.
