Meet the ex-Bulb PR creating the Bulb of broadband

Alexander Fitzgerald was working as a PR advisor for energy startup Bulb when he had an idea — to build a company disrupting the broadband market the same way Bulb disrupted the oligopolistic energy market.

It wasn't such a bad idea. His startup Cuckoo has just raised $6m and grown 250% this year.

But how is Cuckoo tackling the incumbents? Freya Pratty reports.

Gen Z is riding into the 'Wild West' of cryptocurrency — why?

It's a bleak time for young people. Under 25s make up two-thirds of the 700k job losses in the UK since the start of the pandemic — and it's much worse than the 2008 recession.

But since then, bitcoin has been born and cryptocurrencies have rocketed into the mainstream.

Now Gen Z not only see the emergent market as a chance to make short and long-term financial gains, but as an employment opportunity — and possibly a way of changing the financial system forever.
