Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Hi, here's issue #236 of Switch Weekly, with your Nintendo update.

First things first — I had my first dose of the Covid vaccine earlier today (yay), so I'm not feeling 100%. As such apologies if I've missed anything obvious from the week's news - quite easy to do during E3 anyway! 😅

The biggest thing you need to know about right now is Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. It was officially announced yesterday during Ubisoft's E3 presentation, however it actually showed up in error a few hours earlier on Nintendo's own site. Oops. Kinda amusing though when it's Nintendo themselves doing the leaking. Anyway, the intro trailer looks real good, and Rabbid Luma is adorable ok. I really ought to play the first game now... 😬

In last week's issue I shared a link to the Switch Weekly review of run and gun shooter Mighty Goose. Think Metal Slug but with a honking big goose. Well, the kind folks over at Blastmode have given me a copy of Mighty Goose to giveaway to subscribers. So, if you want to give it a try just tap here to enter, and I'll pick a winner tomorrow (so don't hang around, and be sure to keep an eye on your inbox). Oh, and FYI, this is open to all, but the code is for an North American copy of the game, so you'll need to do some eShop switching your outside NA.

There's just over 15 games hitting the Switch next week — a bit quieter than usual, and nothing that's particularly noteworthy. However, expect that to change, as with it being E3, we're bound to get the odd shadow dropped game or two. As ever, Switch Scores remains a solid resource for keeping tabs on what's coming out, and whether it's any good.

Finally, with Nintendo's E3 Direct just a few days away, I'm once again inviting you to play Bingo with the Switch Weekly community. Here's the interactive bingo card you can use to play along with. We'll be scoring live in the Switch Weekly Discord, so join us! (This link expires in 24 hours 😉)

Thanks for reading, have a great week, and enjoy the Direct!
Chris ✌️

How to fix your Nintendo Switch if you're getting error 2123-1502 — Earlier this week Nintendo released a system update for the Switch, and then quickly pulled it. However, those who did install it then found issues with downloading games from the eShop. Here's some pointers that may help mitagate things.
