For better or worse, it’s how our brains work. Marketers have played to this bias for more than a century by using social proof.

Social proof is evidence of legitimacy. The goal of social proof is to make any choice other than buying from you seem abnormal.

Evidence, along with answers to questions and calls to action, are one of the biggest differences between weak and strong webpages.

• A page with evidence gives the visitor reasons to believe.
• A page without evidence is basically a pile of unsupported marketing claims.
