If you're anything like us, you're grinding away, wrapping up all there is to do in 2021 (literally, SO MUCH!) while that little voice in the back of your head tells you that it's almost time to start thinking about, strategizing, and planning for 2022.

We put this edition together with that little voice in mind, so you'll have a few top notch resources you can bookmark and come back to. The Good Links section is all about how to up your newsletter, social media, and launch strategy game.

You know our number one thing with this newsletter is to surface resources we think are *actually useful* and not fluffy. And a huge passion of Nora's is financial literacy and empowerment. In that spirit we're excited to introduce our new friend, colleague, and small biz accountant, Janet below, where shares some helpful, actionable business finance resources.

Good Links Round Up

1. How to quickly make an animated gif in Canva
Kris Daria is an email marketing strategist and according to A/B tests she’s done with her clients, the emails with animated GIFs always brought the highest click rates, sometimes over 50%. In this quick Canva tutorial she explains how to make an animated GIF in under 10 minutes. Another bonus? There are a lot of free cell phone apps that convert GIFs to video clips so you can also use these assets on your Instagram reels.

2. Case Study: 10 tips to improve your email strategy
Ya’ll know we love a Show, Don’t Tell moment and peer research as a way to guide strategy on everything from press outreach, to asset creation, to newsletters. In this post Eman Ismai, copywriter and email conversion strategist, breaks down Fenty Beauty’s marketing to show you what's good (or bad) in their customer email experience. You’ll get concrete takeaways to asses what you’re already doing.

3. How Pinterest will help your dream customers discover your brand and products
In this podcast Kerrie Fitzgerald chats with Pinterest strategist, Meagan Williamson all about how to leverage Pinterest to drive more traffic to your website. During the chat Meagan also covers the power of video pins and how to use them, best practices for repurposing Instagram content for Pinterest, and step-by-step of how many pins to create per month and what to pin. 4. A step-by-step guide to launching a product on social media
Are you planning on launching a new product or project in the new year? In order to have a successful launch from a PR perspective you need to start planning in advance, the same goes for social media. In this super detailed step-by-step guide, our favorite social media scheduler Later (#notanad), shares everything you need to know about launching a new product on social media — from setting your goals and developing a strong creative concept, to building a content plan that generates buzz and drives conversions.

5. How to optimize your creative business' Instagram profile
Speaking of social media, if you’re planning on launching on social or doing press outreach generally, Instagram is one of the most important platforms to tighten up. If I am an editor that’s never heard of you, the first thing I’m going to do is go to your profile. This means it — avatar, name, bio, link, and pinned stories — must be optimized to immediately tell me what your business is about in a compelling way. To help you get started we put together 7 tips to improve your Insta profile, specifically for design and creative businesses.

Wolf Craft Pro Tip

Do you make anything in Pantone's Color of the Year?
You've probably noticed that around this time every year Pantone announces the Color of the Year for the upcoming year, or in 2021's case the two colors. While we can't begin to explain the *why* behind these yearly selections, what we can tell you is that they're a big PR opportunity. A quick Google search will reveal many round-ups of products, gifts, décor items, and spaces that incorporate the yearly Pantone selection.

Keep the Pantone color announcement on your radar every year and be prepared to respond quickly to 2022's announcement, who knows you may have product that is the same color as whatever Pantone decides, and you may have a quick PR win!

Our 1-1 client, Tom from Tomma Bloom landed this shout out in Business of Home's Product Preview section. We get why BOH picked Tomma Bloom work to lead the section; the images are so eye catching! We also love how Tom is actively demystifying PR, one placement at a time. To give you an idea of how accessible this kind of PR work can be, if you scroll down you'll see Wolf PR's client, Haand, just below the Tomma Bloom placement. That's right, Tom is such a superstar that she's landing the same calibre of placements that my team executes. We're so proud of Tom and Tomma Bloom's new launch. Congrats!

Thanks for giving us some time in your inbox! If you have any questions send us a note, we'll always reply.

Cheers,
Nora & Kirsten
