I vividly remember those days.
 
Days of desperately wanting to change my life, taking action but not making any progress.
 
You know what I am talking about if you have ever tried to transform your life - lose weight, become financially independent, prepare for a marathon, pay off the debt or find true love.
 
I tried different things, listened to motivational tapes, observed successful people and kept the fire of making the best out of my life burning inside.
Persistence comes naturally to me.
 
However, I didn't realize the depth of my challenges or the shortcomings of the paths I followed.
 
Without any tangible results, my little life transformation project soon gave way to a long streak of silent desperation.
 
Years passed with only a little progress, and I kept looking for ways to transform my life.
 
Since I have been observing successful people, slowly it led me to discover a very powerful tool to bring about any change I want in life.
 
It was not a sudden discovery. There were no flashes of genius, no life-changing eureka moment — just a slow iterative process of thinking and testing it.
 
The result?
 
 In the last five years since I am using it, I have:
  1.  Become fit, not just weight loss fit, but yoga, push-ups, four-storey stairs climbing, and kettlebell fit.
  2. Built a design cum eCommerce business, gained valuable expertise in user-friendly design, product design, and manufacturing.
  3. Found and nurtured a life-long friendship.
  4. Developed a belief in my ability to figure things out.
 
So what's the tool that I have discovered?
 
It's the science of affirmations, based on the principle that 'you can change your reality by changing your thoughts.'
 
I started aligning my thoughts with the reality I wanted to manifest, and the universe surprised me with its grace.
 
With the right thoughts, you can bring about the biggest transformation in your life with relatively low efforts.

To help you quickstart with powerful thoughts and transform your life, I am going to share six actionable insights.
 
Let's dive right in.
 
1. You can not change the past, but you can change the way you look at it.
 
Shit happens.
 
It happens with the rich as much as it happens with the poor. It happens with successful people as much as it happens with no-so successful people. It happens with all genders and races. Shit is not racist, and it is not discriminatory.
 
If something unpleasant had happened to you in the past, you have two ways to live with it, and you have a 'free will' to choose one of these two ways:
 
Repeat those events in your mind whenever you have free time. Relive those moments, again and again, feeling the dark side of the force every time. Ten minutes of an unpleasant event that happened a decade ago will replay, again and again, bringing the same unpleasant feelings with it every time, gradually compounding to great heights.
 
You can change the way you feel about it by changing your thoughts. If someone had insulted you or harmed you in some ways, did that somehow motivate you to do better in life? Did the hardships make you a slightly better version of yourself? Was that 'shit' a blessing in disguise in any way?
"Huh, what do you know? I was really wronged by him/her; there is no bright side of it", says the voice inside your head.
 
I agree.
 
Now what?
 
You were forced to waste precious time and energy of your life during that unpleasant event. Would you like to help that person or situation by wasting your time and energy every time you replay it for decades to come?
 
Make peace with it.
 
Start with thinking about a positive change it had brought in your life. There will be a positive change.
 
It always does. Replay it.
 
2. Love Yourself
 
In your pursuit of becoming slim, have you ever found yourself hating your natural curves?
 
Most of us are guilty of getting influenced by shiny lifestyles and trying to become something we are not.
 
Men and women alike.
 
Think about the time you met someone or saw something on social media and then spent weeks becoming someone you are not — a bitcoin investor, a social media influencer, a silicon valley entrepreneur, or a digital nomad at Bali.
Nothing wrong with having aspirations. But don't dislike what you already are in an attempt to become someone else.
 
That is toxic.
 
There is tremendous power within those who accept themselves, love their natural qualities, and then work to sharpen those.
 
There is a reason plus-sized, body-positive models have taken the world by storm.
 
Love yourself, love your strengths and accept your weaknesses. Armed with such changed thoughts, now go out in pursuit of your aspirations.
 
3. Do not resist the change
 
Life takes its own turn.
 
Someone you loved had to move on in life.
You had to learn a new skill, a new language, to make progress in the business.
 
Your kids, the twinkle of your eyes, now all grown up, do not get time to call you daily.
 
Your boss bluntly said that you need to improve your presentation skills.
 
Your thought process in the face of such changes determines the possibilities of your transformation.
 
Do not resist the changes over which you have no control. Do not resist the feedback that will ultimately benefit you, even if it has unpleasantly come to you. Instead of thinking about the 'pain at the moment,' focus your thoughts on the 'pleasure of the destination.'
 
Let the current of life take it with you, like the pearls in a flowing river.
 
4. Forgive and heal yourself
 
"Five years ago, he insulted me in front of 10 other people; next time I will meet him, I am going to make it even".
 
How much mental energy would you like to spend on holding on to such thoughts, and for how long?
 
Is it possible that you will benefit more by putting in that same energy in creating a life you always desired?
 
Forgive others for your own sake, for forgiveness is a healing system.
 
The moment you forgive someone, you free yourself from the clutches of negative memory, a powerful dark force.
 
From that moment on, you have extra energy to invest in the things you enjoy.
 
5. Gratitude is a forced multiplier
 
"Oh, I forgot my wallet at home today," your friend said.
 
"Hey, don't worry, here is fifty dollars, return me tomorrow," you said, offering help.
 
"Okay... I wish I had a friend who could offer me five hundred dollars".
 
How likely are you to offer any help to this person next time?
 
Right.
 
The universe works in a somewhat similar way. Whether you want to become fitter, richer or happier, start by thanking the universe for everything you have already got.
 
Begin with gratitude, and you will attract more of it.
 
6. Discipline in daily routine compounds
 
Think of discipline as the engine that accelerates your growth.
 
You won't be able to make the cut if you think one way today and another way the next day.
 
Powerful thoughts bring transformation only if you can hold them for long enough to make them yield.

I know from my personal experiences and the experiences of many others I have worked with that the power of thoughts can transform life in unimaginable ways.
